<br />The park bathrooms are nearing completion and should be open by next week. They are looking <br />great and blend with City Hall very well. <br /> <br />Mr. Butch Spence asked where the concert parking would be. Mr. Cruz replied that the open <br />field across from City Hall would be used as the parking lot for the event. <br /> <br />Bike Trail Update <br />Construction of Section II is in the final stages. The City reached an agreement with Sterling <br />Park to build on the south side of Laurel Way. The last section will include the trail head at <br />Marigold Dr. <br /> <br />Mr. Spence asked when the trail head would be done. Mr. Cruz said the construction of Section <br />II is ahead of schedule and should be completed by Thanksgiving. <br /> <br />Mr. Michael Mason asked if the City was putting in covers over the benches next to the <br />backstop at SSMS. He noticed two holes, about 6 feet deep, 3 feet in diameter which were <br />covered with plywood. Mr. Cruz said he wasn't sure what these were for. There are a couple <br />dugouts which are supposed to be installed, which could possibly account for the holes in the <br />ground. Mr. Cruz said he couldn't be sure without looking at the plans. <br /> <br />Mr. Cruz brought up something that was said by Mayor Glancy at last night's Commission <br />meeting. She questioned Mr. Cruz about the change order. Mr. Cruz said the extra money <br />would be used to do some additional landscaping and purchase sod. She also asked about the <br />schedule, which Mr. Cruz said was on track and would be completed by Thanksgiving. The <br />engineering tests have shown that the boardwalk pilings need to go very deep; the change order <br />is needed to make sure this gets done right and there are no stabilization issues. <br /> <br />Ms. Herron asked if there was a grand opening plan for the trail. Mr. Cruz said there was no <br />plan at this time. <br /> <br />lVlanager's Report: <br />. Jessy J Jazz Concert- October 24th from 6-9 p.m. at Lake Concord Park. Mr. Spence <br />asked if there would be vendors. My. Cruz replied that there would be vendors, similar to <br />the last concert. Mr. Mason mentioned that the Little League would be manning the wine <br />tasting. <br />. Seminola Park- The Habitat for Humanity property has been purchased by the City. <br />This area will be cleared next week. The property will be developed in the future when <br />funding becomes available. <br />. Parks and Facilities Division- Maintenance Coordinator Bob Jones retired on <br />September 25,2009 after 30 years with the City. Maintenance worker Kirk Bailey is <br />filling in as the Acting Maintenance Coordinator. <br /> <br />Board Member Comments: <br />Ms. June Herron asked if the City owns the property at the intersection of Red Bug Lake Rd. and <br />Winter Park Dr. where the Mobil station was tom down. She said it was very overgrown and <br />looks awful. My. Cruz replied that this was a Seminole County project. Ms. Herron asked ifthe <br />City could maintain the area. My.
