The park bathrooms are nearing completion and should be open by next week. They are looking
great and blend with City Hall very well.

Mr. Butch Spence asked where the concert parking would be. Mr. Cruz replied that the open
field across from City Hall would be used as the parking lot for the event.

Bike Trail Update
Construction of Section II is in the final stages. The City reached an agreement with Sterling
Park to build on the south side of Laurel Way. The last section will include the trail head at
Marigold Dr.

Mr. Spence asked when the trail head would be done. Mr. Cruz said the construction of Section
II is ahead of schedule and should be completed by Thanksgiving.

Mr. Michael Mason asked if the City was putting in covers over the benches next to the
backstop at SSMS. He noticed two holes, about 6 feet deep, 3 feet in diameter which were
covered with plywood. Mr. Cruz said he wasn't sure what these were for. There are a couple
dugouts which are supposed to be installed, which could possibly account for the holes in the
ground. Mr. Cruz said he couldn't be sure without looking at the plans.

Mr. Cruz brought up something that was said by Mayor Glancy at last night's Commission
meeting. She questioned Mr. Cruz about the change order. Mr. Cruz said the extra money
would be used to do some additional landscaping and purchase sod. She also asked about the
schedule, which Mr. Cruz said was on track and would be completed by Thanksgiving. The
engineering tests have shown that the boardwalk pilings need to go very deep; the change order
is needed to make sure this gets done right and there are no stabilization issues.

Ms. Herron asked if there was a grand opening plan for the trail. Mr. Cruz said there was no
plan at this time.

lVlanager's Report:
. Jessy J Jazz Concert- October 24th from 6-9 p.m. at Lake Concord Park. Mr. Spence
asked if there would be vendors. My. Cruz replied that there would be vendors, similar to
the last concert. Mr. Mason mentioned that the Little League would be manning the wine
tasting.
. Seminola Park- The Habitat for Humanity property has been purchased by the City.
This area will be cleared next week. The property will be developed in the future when
funding becomes available.
. Parks and Facilities Division- Maintenance Coordinator Bob Jones retired on
September 25,2009 after 30 years with the City. Maintenance worker Kirk Bailey is
filling in as the Acting Maintenance Coordinator.

Board Member Comments:
Ms. June Herron asked if the City owns the property at the intersection of Red Bug Lake Rd. and
Winter Park Dr. where the Mobil station was tom down. She said it was very overgrown and
looks awful. My. Cruz replied that this was a Seminole County project. Ms. Herron asked ifthe
City could maintain the area. My. Cruz said he'd have to look into this.

2
