<br />CASSELBERRY PARKS & RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD <br />Casselberry Recreation Center <br />200 N. Triplet Lake Dr., Casselberry, FL 32707 <br /> <br />A regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board was held Tuesday, October 13, <br />2009 at the Casselberry Recreation Center located at 200 N. Triplet Lake Drive. Butch Spence <br />called the meeting to order at 7:03 P.M. <br /> <br />Board Members Present: <br />Butch Spence, June Herron, Phyllis Sheppard, Michael Mason <br /> <br />Board Members Absent: <br />Bill Hyde <br /> <br />Staff Present: <br />Luis Cruz (Parks and Facilities Manager), Alicia Kardell (Parks and Recreation Office Assistant) <br /> <br />Audience Present: <br />John Casselberry <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes: <br />Butch Spence made a motion to approve the September 8th minutes, as written. Phyllis Sheppard <br />seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously 4-0. <br /> <br />Audience Participation: <br />Mr. John Casselberry, 700 S. Lost Lake Lane, Casselberry, Florida commented on the Seminola <br />Park property. He asked ifthere was a minimum requirement, other than clearing the land, in <br />order to qualify it as a parle. Mr. Cruz said that the City would do more than just clear the land. <br />This area will be a passive park with a fishing pier, walking track, and parking lot. Mr. <br />Casselberry asked if the City was at risk of the County revoking the agreement ofthe retention <br />pond. Mr. Cruz said no, not at this time. <br /> <br />Mr. Casselberry asked if some type of combination lighting could be used for Wirz Park field. <br />Mr. Mason said the Little League International has regulations for lighting and standard ball field <br />lights must be used at night. <br /> <br />Lake Concord Park Update <br />Lake Concord Park is scheduled to open on October 24th, 2009 with the Jessy J Jazz Concert. <br /> <br />The sod is being laid this week and new trees and plants are being planted. <br /> <br />Artist David Passalacqua is in the process of installing the mosaic fern artwork in the interactive <br />fountain. <br /> <br />Three different size planters have been ordered and will be arriving soon. The interactive <br />fountain shower has also been ordered and will be arriving next week. <br /> <br />1 <br />
