CITY OF CASSELBERRY

WATER FACILITIES WORK PLAN

outside the city limits. Casselberry currently provides potable water to approximately 54,396
people, with 52 percent of that population (28,286 people) residing outside the Gty limits.

A list of service connections by number, type, and jurisdiction is given in Table 2.

Table 2: Service Connection Summa

Commercial

Multifamily (total
units)

3,575

1,676

5.12%
25.07%

Total 12,342
Source: Gty of Casselberry GIS Department

8,602

20,944

100.0

C. Potable Water Treatment Facilities

The Gty of Casselberry currently owns and operates three (3) water treatment plants with a
combined daily design capacity of approximately 16 million gallons per day and an FDEP
rated capacity of 14.25 mgd. Each treatment plant has three wells with an average
production capacity of approximately 6.36 million gallons per day (mgd) and 2,190 million
gallons per annum. Treatment at each plant includes aeration, addition of corrosion control
inhibitor, and disinfection. Each of the plants has it's own emergency power generator
capable of powering the facilities at one-half their design capacities. The total average daily
water flow for the city is approximately 5.0 mgd with peaks as high as 7.0 mgd. The locations
of the three water treatment plants are shown on Map 1 (See Appendix A).

The North Water Treatment Plant is located at the end of Bridle Path near Wyndham
Woods, a residential subdivision, within the Gty of Casselberry. The plant has three wells,
two 500,000 gallon ground storage tanks, and three high service pumps. The maximum daily
flow capacity of the plant is 4,167 gallons per minute with a peak flow capacity of 4,000
gallons per minute assuming the largest high service pump is out of service. The historical
average daily flow at the North Plant is 2.07 million gallons per day while the unit
contribution rate is approximately 3.93 million gallons per day.

The Howell Park Treatment Plant is located on State Road 436 and is surrounded by
development on all sides. The plant has three wells, one 250,000 gallon and one 750,000
gallon ground storage tanks (total 750,000 gallons), and three high service pumps. The
historical average daily flow at Howell Plant is 2.21 million gallons per day.

The South Water Treatment Plant is located just off of State Road 436. This facility has three
wells, one 500,000 gallon and one 750,000 gallon ground storage tank, and three high service
pumps. The total well capacity is 6,000 gallons per minute. The South WIP contains the
largest well in the system, which has a capacity of 2,400 gallons per minute.

The high service pumping capacity is 6,000 gallons per minute (8.6 mgd). If system pressures
supersede a certain level, only two pumps can be operated at one time without overflowing
the elevated storage tank located on the site. The elevated storage tank can be isolated to
allow the plant to operate at a higher discharge pressure. Storage treatment limits the use of
the available well capacity to 5,208 gallons per minute or 7.49 million gallons per day.

iAn/l1Jw3n ?nnOf/afiom, ?nc.

Page 3
