Representative to the Seminole County Alliance for Children <br /> <br />Commissioner Miller is the current representative to the Seminole County Alliance for Children and he has <br />requested that another Commissioner replace him as the meeting time conflicts with his work schedule. No <br />one indicated a willingness to serve as the City's representative, so the Commission did not take any action <br />on the matter. <br /> <br />14. CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br /> <br />A. Emergencv Gravity Sewer Repair Servicing Birchwood Landings Apartments and the <br />Market Square Shops <br /> <br />The City Manager stated a report was distributed to the City Commission with the agenda packet regarding <br />an emergency gravity sewer repair servicing the Birchwood Landings Apartments and the Market Square <br />Shops, which she authorized pursuant to City Commission policy and Resolution 06-1671 governing <br />emergency purchases and repairs. A quote in the amount of $33,469.28 was received from APEC and <br />required an inter-departmental transfer of funds from account401-75l-536-12.01 to account40l-751-536.46- <br />05, Emergency Repairs. Work includes demolition ofthe curbing and asphalt, and excavation of the line to <br />expose and repair the break. <br /> <br />Noted staff was working on revisions to the policy regarding the sale of surplus real property to be <br />presented to the City Commission at a future meeting. <br /> <br />15. CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br /> <br />Noted the recent reversal ofthe Strand decision by the Florida Supreme Court to allow the issuance <br />of TIF bonds without the necessity of referendum. <br /> <br />16. CITY CLERK'S REPORT <br /> <br />No report. <br /> <br />17. CITY COMMISSIONERS' REPORTS/COMMENTS <br /> <br />Commissioner Susan Doerner - Seat No.1: <br />Inquired as to the status of the renter's ordinance. The City Manager stated it was anticipated to be <br />brought forward during the first quarter of next year. <br />Voiced concerns regarding the conceptual plans for the City Center, stating she felt it was another <br />strip center. Commissioner Doerner further stated she felt the meeting to discuss the plans should <br />be held at the City Commission level on a Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. Reiterated that she was not <br />sure if she would be able to attend the meeting on September 30th due to vacation plans. <br />
