MavorslManagers Group Reoort - Mavor Goff <br /> <br />Mayor Goff reported the last MayorslManagers group meeting was held in Winter Springs, noting Winter <br />Springs City Manager Ron McLemore has been asked by the group to provide more information and a <br />written proposal for sales tax legislation that would tie into existing legislation which allows small counties <br />to place an additional sales tax on its residents and businesses to support local government. <br /> <br />14. CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br /> <br />. Noted a memorandum dated August 7, 2008 from Gerald Paradise concerning CRA interest <br />payments was distributed with the agenda materials. <br />. Distributed a handout to the City Commission regarding impacts on homeowners for the FY 2009 <br />Budget which included the 2007 budget year in addition to the 2008 and 2009 budget years, as <br />previously requested. <br /> <br />15. CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br /> <br />Ms. Reischmann discussed her August 7, 2008 memorandum regarding protection of City liens during <br />mortgage foreclosures. A copy of Ms. Reischmann's memorandum is attached to and made a part of <br />these minutes. Discussion ensued regarding some ofthe options for the City in seeking to ensure properties <br />are kept neat during the foreclosure process, as outlined in Ms. Reischmann' s memorandum. Ms. Lipscomb <br />requested that staff be given time to review some of the options to see if some of the options could be <br />achieved within the given fiscal and administrative constraints. Ms. Lipscomb clarified that staff would also <br />be reviewing methodology for foreclosures and abandoned properties, that have the utilities turned off, in <br />addition to general code liens. <br /> <br />16. <br /> <br />CITY CLERK'S REPORT <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Announced early voting began August 11th and will continue through August 24th for the August 26, <br />2008 City election. <br />Announced the final town hall meeting on the proposed charter amendments will be held on August <br /> <br />. <br />
