<br />CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of August II, 2008 - Regular Meeting <br />Page 7 of 11 <br /> <br />ENVIRONMENTAL PERFORMANCE, USING CRITERIA AND STANDARDS <br />DEVELOPED BY THE FLORIDA GREEN BUILDING COALITION, AND <br />ENCOURAGING THE LEGISLATURE AND GOVERNOR TO SUPPORT THE GREEN <br />LOCAL GOVERNMENT PROGRAM; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE." <br /> <br />Staff Presentation: Ms. Barbara Lipscomb, City Manager stated the Florida League of Cities has requested <br />that cities consider adoption of a resolution in support of the "Green Local Government" program developed <br />by the Florida Green Building Coalition. Approval of Resolution 08-] 916 would declare the City's intent <br />to pursue measures to become a "Green Local Government". The criteria and standards established by the <br />Florida Green Building Coalition offer guidelines for developers to build, utilizing "green" concepts. The <br />City is currently making an effort to become more energy efficient itself. <br /> <br />Budget Impact: This item has not budget impact. <br /> <br />Recommendation: The City Manager recommended approval of Resolution 08-1916. <br /> <br />Audience Inpnt: The following individual came forward and addressed Resolution 08-1916: <br /> <br />I) Mr. Craig Tull, 420 Ranch Trail, spoke in favor of Resolution 08- I 9 I 6 and further stated <br />the City should consider exploring methods to utilize waste materials produced by the City <br />such as composting. <br /> <br />2) Mr. John Casselbeny, 700 South Lost Lake Lane, inquired if this matter was related to <br />the Enviromnental Protection Agency or was just a beautification issue. <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Commissioner Solomon moved to approve Resolution <br />08-1916 as presented. Motion was seconded by <br />Commissioner Miller. Motion carried unanimously by <br />voice vote 5 - O. <br /> <br />12. OTHER ITEMS <br /> <br />No items were placed on the agenda for consideration. <br /> <br />13. DISCUSSION ITEMS <br /> <br />A. North Winter Park Drive Proiect Phase I - Propertv Parcels Adiacent to Gee Creek <br /> <br />Staff Presentation: Mr. Ed Torres, Public Works Director, stated staff was requesting direction from the <br />City Commission regarding possible purchase or exchange of property for a parcel containing two residential <br />mobile homes owned by Mr. Rick Casselbeny adjacent to Gee Creek associated with the North Winter Park <br />Drive Project. The subject property was not required for construction of the road project and is not located <br />within the corporate limits of the City, however the two mobile homes are located extremely close to the new <br />
