<br />Pianning & Zoning Commission! <br />Local Planning Agency <br />June 28, 2006 <br />Page 7 of 14 <br /> <br />Ms. Barbara Ritchie, 1071 North Winter Park Drive, Casselberry, Florida came forward. She said the <br /> <br />business needs to be located in an area with traffic. Ms. Ritchie expressed a concern with excessive traffic and the <br />children's safety. <br /> <br />Ms. Kimberly Burdett, 18 Elkwood Court, Winter Springs, Florida came forward. Ms. Burdett was concerned <br /> <br />with the children's safety walking to school and drivers in the area driving under the influence of alcohol. <br /> <br />Ms. Sandi Solomon, 6 Bayberry Branch, Casselberry, Florida came forward. Ms. Solomon said that other <br /> <br />cities have an industrial zoning for adult entertainment. She said no one wants adult entertainment in their backyard. <br /> <br />Ms. Solomon said she has talked with law enforcement and there are secondary influences such as more fighting, <br /> <br />drunkenness, drugs, and prostitution. <br /> <br />Mr. Jon Miller, 380 Jefferson Drive, Casselberry, Florida came forward. Mr. Miller said he has done some <br /> <br />research using Westlaw which has a secondary source for case law. Mr. Miller said in reviewing this information he <br /> <br />found that the City must provide an area for adult entertainment; however, it does not require the site to be located on <br /> <br />a major corridor. <br /> <br />He said that the residents are trying to remake the image of Casselberry and to make the 17/92 corridor <br /> <br />family friendly and community minded. He said adult entertainment does not fit into that mantra. Mr. Miller <br />suggested tightening up the behavior codes for adult entertainment. <br />Mr. Joel Hunter, 203 Savannah Park Loop, Casselberry, Florida came forward. Mr. Hunter said the issue is <br /> <br />what is the future of our community. Mr. Hunter said there are secondary effects from adult entertainment. He said <br /> <br />that no one wants adult entertainment in their neighborhood. Mr. Hunter said this is the best plan for the values we <br /> <br />want for our community. <br /> <br />Mr. Tracy Estes, 882 North Winter Park Drive, Casselberry, Florida came forward and submitted signed <br />petitions from the surrounding neighbors (copies are attached and made a part of the minutes). Mr. Estes said adun <br /> <br />entertainment is not needed in their neighborhood. <br /> <br />Mr. John Casselberry, 700 South Lost Lake Lane, Casselberry, Florida came forward. Mr. Casselberry <br /> <br />stated he has not read the ordinance. He recommended that adult entertainment businesses should be located on <br />
