<br />Pianning & Zoning Commission! <br />Local Planning Agency <br />May 24, 2006 <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />Ms. Smith said the City Attorney has reviewed the draft ordinance and her comments are reflected in blue (a <br /> <br />copy is on file in the Community Development Department). She said the Police Department and Fire Department <br /> <br />had no comments. <br /> <br />In response to Mr. Henson's question, Ms. Smith stated that due to the extensive agenda for the May 22, <br />2006 City Commission meeting, the City Manager requested the prohibited vehicles ordinance be placed on the June <br /> <br />12,2006 City Commission agenda. Ms. Smith explained that the recreational vehicle ordinance has been advertised <br /> <br />and will be on the June 14, 2006 Planning and Zoning Commission agenda. <br /> <br />In response to Mr. Henson's question, Ms. Smith stated that the City Commission is provided copies of all <br /> <br />the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting packets. <br /> <br />Ms. Smith reviewed the draft ordinance. A lengthy discussion ensued regarding regulating the number of <br /> <br />temporary/demo tags and dealer tags on vehicles allowed in residential zoning districts. <br /> <br />The following changes were made to the draft ordinance: <br /> <br />1. Change Section 3-10.9.A.3 (a) to read: "Drivewav or Desianated ParkinQ Area. All currently <br />licensed and oermanentlv reaistered privatoly owned autos, trucks and vans must be parked <br />in a driveway or permanent designated area. One (1) temoorarv reaistered vehicle is <br />oermitted oer residential structure. Tho designated 3rea is restricted to ono (1) space that <br />shall bo parallel, and adjacont to, tho dri','oway and fivo (5) foot from the front proporty lino. <br />2. Approved parking area materials include concrete, asphalt, pavers, brick, crushed rock, <br />gravel, or geo-web with gravel. The material used for the designated parking area shall be <br />similar to the driveway. Mulch is not an approved surface for a designated area. <br />3. Curbing shall be provided to define the designated parking area if crushed rock, gravel or <br />geo-web with gravel is used. Designated parking area shall have an edge or border <br />constructed from impervious material. <br />4. An existing pervious driveway must define driveway area with curbing by August 2008. <br />5. Adding a designated parking area requires that the driveway and designated area meet <br />code. <br />6. Staff to separate driveway and designated parking area requirements. <br />a. Driveway. The driveway shall be a maximum one lane width for a single car garage, two <br />lanes for a double garage, and three lanes for a three car garage or more. Residential <br />properties without a garage shall provide a single lane driveway. <br />
