Scope of Worl<

will be prepared. The ENGINEER will perform calculations to verify that the weir
will be stable against the force of the groundwater table, side banks, and water in the
channel.

Task 2 - Final Engineering Design Evaluation

Subtask 2.1 - Hydrologic and Hydraulic Evaluation
The ENGINEER will utilize the existing hydrologic/hydraulic Interconnected
Channel and Pond Routing (ICPR) model, (Version 2.2) previously developed for the
Gee Creek Basin (Singhofen & Associates, Inc. 1996) available from Seminole County.
The model will be updated to reflect the current topographic data and will be used to
support the proposed design. The proposed conditions model will become the basis
for final hydraulic design. The ENGINEER will simulate the mean annual, 25-, and
100-year, 24-hour design storm events for both the existing and proposed project
conditions. The model results will be used as the supporting documentation for the
permit application package. The existing ICPR model is characterized by some
instability. If possible, the model will be used to check for erosive velocities in the
channel immediately upstream and downstream of the weir. CDM will not correct
the instabilities in the existing ICPR model.

Task 3 - Design Services

The ENGINEER will prepare Drawings in general conformance with FDOT
Specifications and Design Standards suitable for bidding and construction of all
improvements presented on Figure 1. It has been anticipated that there will be
approximately 10 general/ civil/ structural/ geotechnical construction plan sheets. It
has been assumed for budgeting purposes that the civil design will include; weir
design, channel stabilization and grading, and sheet pile design. There will also be a
structural design component for the weir and weir foundation will be provided under
this work authorization. Structural design will be in compliance with FOOT design
criteria for drainage structures.

Subtask 3.1 - Construction Documents
The design effort will include two submittal milestones corresponding to 90%, and
100% complete. The ENGINEER shall use CITY supplied Division 0 and Division 1
specifications and FOOT standard specifications. CDM will develop technical
specifications and special provisions for items not covered by FDOT specifications.
The ENGINEER shall provide four sets of full size plans (22-inch x 34-inch) and
specifications and a bid tab with quantities, for review and comment by the CITY at
the 90 percent milestone. For the 100 percent milestone, the ENGINEER will submit
four sets of full size plans bound, specifications, bid tab, and one compact disk (CD)
containing electronic files of the documents in PDF format following. Review
comments received from the CITY will be incorporated into the construction
documents (plans and specifications) as mutually agreed upon by the CITY and the
ENGINEER.

A

2

C:'Dol::umenIs ,.-1 SetlingsWlarres\Loal1 Setli.\TempOl1I11Y IntemeI RIrIsICllK8\Scop12 (4).da(:
