CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes or September 8, 2008 - Regular Meeting <br />Page 3 or 17 <br />1) Mr. Brian Riley, General Manager of Suburban Extended Stay Hotel, introduced himself <br />and his Assistant General Manager, Ms. Melinda Bollig to the City Commission. Mr. Riley <br />and Ms. Bollig stated they wanted assure the City Commission that they were cleaning up <br />the property, and have had a lot of success in just two weeks. Mr. Rily noted they recently <br />had a small fire in one of the units and wanted to commend the Casselberry Fire Department <br />and Police Department for their response and assistance. Mr. Riley presented plaques to the <br />Police Department and the Fire Department, and also presented a plaque to the City <br />Commission in recognition of their community leadership. <br />2) Mr. John Casselberry, 700 South Lost Lake Lane, stated with regard to the workshop held <br />earlier on the rezoning of Seminola Boulevard, he felt the City should confer with the <br />Seminole County Property Appraiser's Office and a private appraiser to assess what would <br />be a good zoning for the area. Mr. Casselberry voiced concerns about a trail component that <br />was discussed last year by the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board between Lost Lake and <br />Middle Triplet Lake. Mr. Casselberry voiced further concerns regarding the Blueway Trail <br />proposal of placing large rocks in the areas of former public boat ramps because he felt the <br />ramps should be maintained and accessible by the Fire Department should they need to <br />launch a boat for a rescue. Mr. Casselberry made inquiry to the actual dollar amount <br />associated with Consent Agenda item (D), Budget Amendment #08-060 for the Iron Bridge <br />Wastewater Treatment Plan Expansion Project. Mr. Casselberry voiced concerns regarding <br />the demolition of the former Buckhorn Bar location and other buildings along the 17-92 <br />corridor. <br />3) Mr. Craig Tull, 420 Ranch Trail, stated inquired why possible implementation of no wake <br />zones on City Lakes has not been addressed by the City Commission to date, because he felt <br />a no wake rule would address a lot of the concerns regarding lakes, and would regulate <br />everyone, including lakefront property owners. <br />4) Ms. Phyllis Sheppard, 580 South Triplet Lake Drive, voiced concerns regarding the <br />Blueway Trail system, stating she has lived on South Lake Triplet for 40 years and has never <br />had a problem with boats with trolling motors fishing on the lakes, but foresees problems <br />with the canoes and cayacs and possible trespassing on private property, since that use is <br />along the shoreline. Ms. Sheppard stated she agreed with Commissioner Doemer's <br />comments and concerns regarding the proposed system and wanted assurance that lakefront <br />property owners' privacy would be taken into consideration. <br />No one else requested to be recognized during Citizens' Comments. <br />8. CONSENT AGENDA <br />A.
