All were present.
5. MINUTES
A. Minutes of July 28, 2008 - Regular Meeting
MOTION: Commissioner Solomon moved to approve the regular
meeting minutes of July 28, 2008 as presented. Motion
was seconded by Vice Mayor Hufford. Motion carried
4 - 1 (Commissioner Miller dissenting) by voice vote.
Commissioner Miller stated he did not have a chance to review the minutes enough and did not feel confident
to say he has seen everything in the minutes. The City Clerk stated the minutes were emailed to the City
Commission on Thursday, September 4, 2008, one day after the agenda packets were distributed. The City
Manager stated she was currently working with the City Clerk to get the minutes caught up and distributed
in advance to the City Commission.
6. PRESENTATIONS/COMMENDATIONS
A. Departmental Presentation - Casselberry Blueway Trail System
Ms. Linda Moore, Parks Planner, gave a presentation on the Casselberry Blueway Trail System. A copy of
the presentation is attached to and made a part of these minutes. A pilot program for the Blueway Trail
System will commence in September 2008, with the Trail opening in December. The pilot program will be
evaluated in November 2009.
Commissioner Miller, Commissioner Solomon, and Mayor Goff were supportive of the pilot program for the
Blueway Trail System. Commissioner Deemer stated the Blueway Trail System conceptually was a
wonderful idea, but she could not support the plan at this point due to concerns she has heard from residents
regardingtrash and debris on the lakeshores, public access, and oppositionto creating more interconnectivity.
Commissioner Doerner further stated she did not think this type of use belonged on such a small body of
water. Vice Mayor Hufford stated she understood some of Commissioner Deemer's thoughts and would like
to have an update on the pilot program in six months rather than waiting until November 2009.
7. CITIZENS' COMMENTS
Mayor Goff announced that persons who wished to make comment or make inquiry on any matter not on the
agenda, may request to be recognized during Citizens' Comments.
