CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of September 8, 2008 - Regular Meeting <br />Page 2 of 17 <br />4. ROLL CALL <br />The City Clerk called the roll of Elected Officials. All were present. <br />5. MINUTES <br />A. Minutes of July 28, 2008 - Regular Meeting <br />MOTION: Commissioner Solomon moved to approve the regular <br />meeting minutes of July 28, 2008 as presented. Motion <br />was seconded by Vice Mayor Hufford. Motion carried <br />4 - 1 (Commissioner Miller dissenting) by voice vote. <br />Commissioner Miller stated he did not have a chance to review the minutes enough and did not feel confident <br />to say he has seen everything in the minutes. The City Clerk stated the minutes were emailed to the City <br />Commission on Thursday, September 4, 2008, one day after the agenda packets were distributed. The City <br />Manager stated she was currently working with the City Clerk to get the minutes caught up and distributed <br />in advance to the City Commission. <br />6. PRESENTATIONS/COMMENDATIONS <br />A. Departmental Presentation - Casselberry Blueway Trail System <br />Ms. Linda Moore, Parks Planner, gave a presentation on the Casselberry Blueway Trail System. A copy of <br />the presentation is attached to and made a part of these minutes. A pilot program for the Blueway Trail <br />System will commence in September 2008, with the Trail opening in December. The pilot program will be <br />evaluated in November 2009. <br />Commissioner Miller, Commissioner Solomon, and Mayor Goff were supportive of the pilot program for the <br />Blueway Trail System. Commissioner Deemer stated the Blueway Trail System conceptually was a <br />wonderful idea, but she could not support the plan at this point due to concerns she has heard from residents <br />regardingtrash and debris on the lakeshores, public access, and oppositionto creating more interconnectivity. <br />Commissioner Doerner further stated she did not think this type of use belonged on such a small body of <br />water. Vice Mayor Hufford stated she understood some of Commissioner Deemer's thoughts and would like <br />to have an update on the pilot program in six months rather than waiting until November 2009. <br />7. CITIZENS' COMMENTS <br />Mayor Goff announced that persons who wished to make comment or make inquiry on any matter not on the <br />agenda, may request to be recognized during Citizens' Comments.
