She thcn stated that Hank Lander was also in the audience, <br />and would be speaking for Mr. Rubin. Another representative was in the audience, Ken Wagner, whom CEO Lawrence <br />has been communicating with. CEO Lawrence stated that complaints have been received for the past three years on this <br />propeliy. Mr. Rubin each time has minimally taken action to keep the property standing. <br /> <br />CEO Lawrence stated the City is asking for no more than thiliy days for Mr. Rubin to make a decision and to submit a <br />contract to the City for either removal of the structure, demolition of the structure or restoration of the structure. <br /> <br />Richard L. Henderson asked CEO Lawrence ifthcy had received a penllit. <br /> <br />CEO Lawrence stated no, they had applied for it. The pennit could be approved, should Mr. Rubin decide that is the <br />action that he wants to take, he has not made a decision on how he wants to act on the propeliy yet. <br /> <br />Debra Babb-Nutcher asked CEO Lawrence, thc City is asking for thiliy days tor them to just makc a decision or to comc <br />into compliance. <br /> <br />CEO Lawrence stated to submit the contract, and ifit is demolished they could come into compliance in thiliy days. She <br />thcn statcd the application is already in process, a contract would need to be signed and within a period of about thirty <br />days the structure could be demolished. <br /> <br />Ms. Babb-Nutcher asked what if they choose to make repairs. <br /> <br />CEO Lawrencc stated if they choose to make repairs it \vould be contingent on the building pemlit and the site plan that <br />is submitted to the Building Depmimcnt, it could be six months could be a year. This would depend on the type of <br />renovations that might be applicd for. If they dccide to remove the structure and transport it to a different location, Ms. <br />Lawrence could not answer how long that would take, and that Mr. Lander may be able to evaluate that. <br /> <br />Ms. Babb-Nutcher stated that making a decision is not coming into compliance that would be up to the Board to <br />detennine that. <br /> <br />Mr. Henderson stated the City is asking the Board to put pressure on them, to present the City with a contract within the <br />next thirty days. Mr. Henderson stated that it seemed to him that this could be worked out between the City and them <br />over the next thiliy days. If they do not present a contract within that thiliy days then bring it to the Board. <br /> <br />CEO Lawrence stated they have not submitted it, that is what they have been working to try to get done, and that has not <br />becn submitted as of 06112/2008. <br /> <br />Mr. Henderson asked how long have they been trying to get this done. <br /> <br />CEO Lawrence stated she has been working on this case since 03/31/2008. Since 03/31/2008 Mr. Rubin has discussed <br />with CEO Lawrence many times that it is his intent to demolish the building. So far an application has been submitted <br />but as he has not signed a contract with the contractor that submitted the application, it is simply an application sitting in <br />file until it is paid for. <br /> <br />Discussion. <br /> <br />Phillip Weekley asked CEO Lawrcnce ifthe goal is to have Mr. Rubin sign a contract for demolition. <br />
