Ordinance 07-1219 - Adjustment in Fine for Code Violation of Open Burning <br /> <br />The City Clerk read Ordinance 07-1219 by title as follows: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AMENDING <br />SECTION 2.210, SCHEDULE OF VIOLATIONS TO INCREASE THE PENALTY FOR <br />VIOLATIONS OF SECTION 42-4, OPEN BURNING, PROVIDING FOR <br />SEVERABILITY, CODIFICATION, CONFLICTS AND EFFECTIVE DATE." <br /> <br />StaITPresentation: Ordinance 07-12 I 9 is the companion ordinance to 07-12 I 6, which amended <br />the City Code, Chapter 42, regarding Opening Burning. Ordinance 07-1219 increases the fee for <br />violation of the Open Burning Code from $50.00 to $300.00 per violation. The increase in the fine <br />is warranted to assist in deterring any code violations regarding open burning. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: Approval of Ordinance 07-1219 on first reading as presented and <br />schedule the second reading and public hearing for September 9, 2007. <br /> <br />Audience Input - None <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Moved by Commissioner Colleen S. Hufford to approve Ordinance <br />07-1219, Increase of Fees for Open Burning Violations, on first <br />reading as presented. Motion was seconded by Vice <br />Mayor/Commissioner Susan Doerner and carried unanimously on a <br />5 - 0 voice vote. <br /> <br />Resolution 06-1703 states the City Commission must vote to continue the meeting ifthe <br />agenda goes past 9:30 p.m. <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Moved by Commissioner Jon Miller to continue the meeting. <br />Motion was seconded by Vice Mayor/Commissioner Susan Doerner <br />and carried unanimously on a 5 - 0 voice vote. <br /> <br />11. Summerset North Traffic Issue - (Continued from July 23, 2007 Meeting) <br /> <br />Staff Presentation bv Ed Torres, Public Works Director: During the July 9, 2007 <br />Commission meeting, a resident expressed concerns regarding numerous U-turns conducted at <br />Winding Ridge Road. In particular, motorists are turning eastbound onto Winding Ridge Road <br />from Red Bug Lake Road and are making a westbound U-turn back onto Red Bug Lake Road. <br />This movement causes may motorists to drive onto the grassy areas adjacent to Winding Ridge <br />Road. At the request of residents ofthe community, delineators were place in the affected area. <br />Since that time, staff has determined that the installation of delineators only moved the problem <br />
