<br />City Commission Meeting <br />June 11, 2007 <br />Page 9 <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Moved by Commissioner Sandra T. Solomon to approve Ordinance 07-1213, <br />Adopting Chapter 20 of the Seminole County Code re Animal Control, as <br />presented. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Jon Miller. <br /> <br />Commission requested a synopsis of the differences in the level of service between Casselberry and <br />Seminole County. Deputy ChiefRuf stated that the City offered services that Seminole County does not <br />provide in Chapter 20 and they are as follows: <br /> <br />. Direct Lease Law - Seminole County does not require a physical tether for animals <br />. Wild Animals Running Loose <br />· Seminole County does not require a permit for keeping of multiple pets or exotics - Deputy Chief <br />Ruf recommended that the City continue to regulate the number of pets allowed and this could be <br />accomplished in the City's Unified Land Development Regulations <br />. Privately owned traps - County does not service privately owned traps <br />· Harboring stray dogs and cats - Not a part of Seminole County Code <br />· Breeding Permits - Seminole County does not require breeding permits <br /> <br />Deputy Chief Ruf recommended that the City continue to regulate the number of pets allowed in the <br />City and maintain its leash law. Any other Animal Control regulations that the Commission wishes to <br />maintain could be accomplished in the City's Unified Land Development Regulations. Commission <br />requested this item be discussed at the June 25, 2007 Meeting. <br /> <br />VOTE ON THE MOTION: Carried unanimously on a 5 - 0 vote. <br /> <br />B. Ordinance 07-1214 - Proposed Amendments to the City Charter <br /> <br />The City Clerk read Ordinance 07-1214 by title as follows: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, SUBMITTING <br />TO THE ELECTORS OF CASSELBERRY PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE <br />CHARTER OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY AT A SPECIAL ELECTION TO BE <br />HELD OCTOBER 9, 2007; PROVIDING FOR REVISIONS TO ARTICLE V, <br />SECTION 26 (CITY MANAGER), ARTICLE VI, SECTIONS 27 AND 30 <br />(APPOINTED OFFICIALS), ARTICLE XI, SECTION 62 (MISCELLANEOUS <br />PROVISIONS); ARTICLE VIII, SECTION 38 (ELECTIONS); PROVIDING <br />BALLOT TITLES, SUMMARIES AND TEXT FOR THE PROPOSED <br />AMENDMENTS; PROVIDING FOR THE CALL OF A REFERENDUM ELECTION; <br />PROVIDING FOR DIRECTION TO THE CITY CLERK; PROVIDING FOR <br />ADJUSTMENT OF INCUMBENTS TERMS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, <br />SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR EFFECTIVE DATE FOR APPROVED <br />AMENDMENTS; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION AND EFFECTIVE DATE <br />FOR THE ORDINANCE." <br />
