Motion was seconded by Commissioner <br />Henson. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote. <br /> <br />The City Clerk read Ordinance 02-1047 by title as follows: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AMENDING <br />CHAPTER 62, PERSONNEL, ARTICLE XVIII, POLICE OFFICERS' AND <br />FIREFIGHTERS' PENSION PLAN, OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY <br />OF CASSELBERRY; AMENDING SECTION 62-481, DEFINITIONS, TO AMEND THE <br />DEFINITION OF "ACCUMULATED CONTRIBUTIONS"; AMENDING SECTION 62- <br />485, CONTRIBUTIONS; AMENDING SECTION 62.488, DISABILITY; AMENDING <br />SECTION 62-495, MAXIMUM PENSION; AMENDING SECTION 62.497, <br />MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS; AMENDING SECTION 62-504, DIRECT <br />TRANSFERS OF ELIGIBLE ROLLOVER DISTRIBUTIONS; AMENDING SECTION 62- <br />505, FAMILY AND MEDICAL LEAVE ACT; AMENDING SECTION 62-506, <br />MILITARY SERVICE PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT; ADDING SECTION 62-507, PRIOR <br />POLICE OR FIRE SERVICE; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY OF PROVISIONS; <br />REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND PROVIDING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE." <br /> <br />The Notice of Public Hearing relative to Ordinance 02-1047 was published in the Orlando Sentinel on April <br />28,2002. Ordinance 02-1047 was passed on first reading on March 25,2002. <br /> <br />Mr. Dreier stated Ordinance 02-1047 provides for changes in the Police Officers' & Firefighters' Pension <br />Plan in accordance with recent modifications to Chapters 175 and 185 of the Florida State Statutes. <br />Ordinance 02- 1047 was recommended for approval by the Police Officers' & Firefighters' Pension Board <br />of Trustees at their March 4, 2002 meeting. The proposed modifications will not affect the cost of the <br />pension plan. Mr. Dreier recommended approval of Ordinance 02-1047 on second reading. <br /> <br />Mayor Pronovost asked if there was anyone in the audience that wished to speak either for or against <br />Ordinance 02-1047. No one came forward. Mayor Pronovost closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Commissioner Clark moyed to approve and adopt <br />Ordinance 02-1047 on second and final reading, as <br />presented. Motion was seconded by Commissioner <br />Henson. Motion carried unanimously by roll call vote. <br />
