<br />SECTION II. That Article IV, Section 12, Mayor; Vice Mayor, of the <br /> <br />Charter of the City of Casselberry, Florida, is hereby amended to read as <br /> <br />follows: <br /> <br />S 12 CHAIRMAN; MAYOR; VICE MAYOR. <br /> <br />The Chairman shall preside at all meetings of the City <br />Commission. The Mayor shall be recognized as head of the <br />City government for all ceremonial purposes, by the <br />governor for purposes of military laws, for service of <br />process, execution of contracts, deeds, and other <br />documents. The Chairman, Mayor, and Vice Mayor shall be <br />members of the City Commission and shall have a vote as <br />Commissioners on any matters coming before the City <br />Commission. The City Commission shall annually elect <br />from among its members a Chairman at the first City <br />Commission meeting in November. The Chairman and Vice <br />Mayor shall hold office for a term of one (1) year or <br />until a successor is elected. <br /> <br />If a vacancy occurs, the office of Chairman, Mayor or <br />Vice Mayor shall be filled by the City Commission for the <br />completion of the unexpired term. The Vice Mayor shall <br />act as the Mayor during the absence or disability of the <br />Mayor. The Mayor shall act as the Chairman during the <br />absence or disability of the Chairman. (Amendment <br />adopted by electorate, November 6, 1990.) <br /> <br />SECTION III. <br /> <br />That Article IV, Section 16, Assumption of Office and <br /> <br />Establishment of Organizational Meeting, of the Charter of the City of <br /> <br />Casselberry, Florida, is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />S 16 ASSUMPTION OF OFFICE AND ESTABLISIDIENT OF <br />ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING. <br /> <br />Beginning with the City election on October 6, 1992 and <br />all City elections thereafter, elected public officers <br />shall be sworn, seated, and assume the duties and <br />responsibilities of office upon the first City Commission <br />meeting in November following the regular City election <br />in which they were elected. <br /> <br />Office holders shall serve the office to which they were <br />elected and sworn until their successor is sworn, seated, <br />and assumes office. Upon assumption of office, the <br /> <br />-3- <br />
