<br />WHEREAS, the City Commission deems it in the best interest of the City <br /> <br />to amend the Charter of the City for the purpose of creating a revised <br /> <br />Charter; and <br /> <br />NHEREAS, the City Commission desires to submit the amendments to the <br /> <br />Charter to the electors of the City of Casselberry, Florida, for a referendum <br /> <br />at the regular City election to be held on November 5, 1991. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF <br />THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />SECTION I. That Article IV, Section lO, Creation of City Commission; <br /> <br />Composition; Term, of the Charter of the City of Casselberry, Florida, is <br /> <br />hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />S 10 CREATION OF CITY COMMISSION; COMPOSITION; TERM. <br /> <br />There is hereby created a City Commission of the City of <br />Casselberry consisting of five (5) members; four (4) <br />Commissioners and a Mayor, who shall also be known as a <br />Commissioner. Commencing with the City Commissioners <br />elected on November 6, 1990 and at all subsequent <br />elections, each member of the City Commission shall be <br />elected at large in the manner provided in this Charter <br />and shall hold office for a term of three (3) years or <br />until their successors are elected and certified. No <br />member of the City Commission shall serve more than three <br />(3) consecutive terms; said consecutive terms shall begin <br />with the 1990 term. <br /> <br />The City Commission shall have staggered terms. The <br />selection of members of the City Commission shall be by <br />seats known as Seats 1, 2, 3, 4 for the Commissioners and <br />Seat 5 for the Mayor/Commissioner. The <br />Mayor/Commissioner for Seat 5 and the Commissioner for <br />Seat 4 shall be elected at the regular City election for <br />three (3) year terms beginning 1991, and every three (3) <br />years thereafter. The Commissioners for Seats 1, 2, and <br />3 shall be elected at the regular City election for three <br />(3) year terms beginning 1990 and every three (3) years <br />thereafter. There shall be no election for said seats at <br />the regular City election in 1992, nor every three (3) <br />years thereafter. <br /> <br />-2- <br />
