Motion was seconded by Commissioner <br />Henson. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote. <br /> <br />The City Clerk read Ordinance 00-988 by title as follows: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, <br />FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTION 62-]49 (]) TO PROVIDE FOR ALTERNATIVE <br />METHODS OF ANNOUNCING EXAMINATIONS FOR POSITIONS IN THE CITY'S <br />CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION, CONFLICTS, <br />SEVERABILITY AND EFFECTIVE DATE." <br /> <br />The Notice of Public Hearing relative to Ordinance 00-988 was published in the Orlando Sentinel on Sunday, <br />May 21, 2000. Ordinance 00-988 was passed on first reading on May 1,2000. <br /> <br />Ms. Vivo stated Ordinance 00-988 provides for alternative methods of advertising vacancies for civil service <br />positions. Ms. Vivo stated the alternative advertising would not only result in a cost savings, but be more <br />advantageous for certain vacancies by allowing advertising in on or a combination of media such as the <br />Internet and trade journals without necessarily advertising in the Orlando Sentinel. The decision of where <br />to advertise a particular vacancy would be the discretion ofthe Chief Examiner. Staff recommended approval <br />of Ordinance 00-988 on second reading. <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Clark moved to approve and adopt <br />Ordinance 00-988 on second and final reading. Motion <br />was seconded by Commissioner Henson. Motion <br />carried unanimously by roll call vote. <br /> <br />Roll Call Vote of the City Commission: <br /> <br />Commissioner Sheppard - Yes; Commissioner Henson - Yes; Commissioner Hart _ Yes; Vice Mayor <br />Clark - Yes; Mayor Pronovost - Yes. Motion was seconded by Commissioner <br />Henson. Motion carried nnanimously by voice vote. <br />
