<br />CITY COMMISSION <br />June 17, 1991 <br />Page 8 <br /> <br />SECOND READING OF ORDINANCE 699 - <br />AMENDING CHAPTER 30 - COMMISSION SEATS <br /> <br />MOTION: Mr. Henson moved, Mrs. Miller seconded, and <br />motion carried unanimonsly to read the Notice of <br />Public Hearing relative to Ordinance 699. <br /> <br />The Acting City Clerk read the Notice of Public Hearing as follows: <br /> <br />"Notice is hereby given by the City of Casselberry, Florida, that the City <br />Commission will hold a public hearing to consider enactment of Ordinance 699. <br />This notice is given pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 166, Florida Statutes, <br />and the Charter and Ordinances of the City of Casselberry, Florida as amended <br />and supplemented. Said Ordinance will be considered on first reading on <br />Monday, May 20, 1991, and the City Commission will consider same for final <br />passage and adoption after the public hearing which will be held in the City Hall <br />of Casselberry, Florida, on Monday, June 3, 1991 at 7:30 p.m. or as soon <br />thereafter as possible. At the meeting interested parties may appear and be heard <br />with respect to the proposed ordinance. This hearing may be continued from time <br />to time until final action is taken by the City Commission. Copies of the <br />proposed ordinance are available at City Hall with the Clerk of the City and the <br />same may be inspected by the public. " <br /> <br />This notice was published in the Sanford Herald on Sunday, May 19, 1991. <br /> <br />MOTION: Mr. Henson moved, Mr. Crocker seconded, and <br />motion carried unanimously to read Ordinance <br />699 by title only. <br /> <br />The Acting City Clerk read Ordinance 699 by title as follows: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, <br />AMENDING CHAPTER 30 OF THE CODE ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF <br />CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, REGARDING CITY COMMISSION SEATS BY <br />PROVIDING FOR CERTAIN PROCEDURES TO FILL A VACANCY IN A <br />CANDIDACY CAUSED BY DEATH, WITHDRAWAL, OR REMOVAL <br />FROM THE BALLOT OF A QUALIFIED CANDIDATE FOLLOWING THE <br />END OF THE QUALIFYING PERIOD WHICH LEAVES FEWER THAN TWO <br />CANDIDATES FOR A CITY COMMISSION SEAT; PROVIDING FOR <br />CODIFICATION, CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
