<br />EXHIBIT "A" <br /> <br />City Commission Meeting & Agenda Policies <br />Adopted February 13, 2006 <br /> <br />1. Al!enda Items. <br /> <br />A. Consent Agenda. The consent agenda shall be limited to those items which are <br />reasonably expected to be approved by the Commission. Items placed on the consent agenda will not <br />be discussed or debated at any length, other than brief questions or clarifications. If one or more <br />members of the Commission wish to discuss or debate anyone or more issue(s) on the consent <br />agenda, he or she may make a request to move such issue( s) from the consent agenda to the regular <br />agenda by the form of a motion, second, and vote. One singular motion and vote will be taken to <br />approve or deny the consent agenda as presented and/or modified. <br /> <br />Clerical errors (such as misspelled words, incorrect account numbers, etc.) which are minor <br />in nature and easily corrected by staff should be presented to the City Clerk, Commission Secretary, <br />or City Manager in advance of the meeting time so as to be corrected prior to the meeting. A <br />correction memo ( or pages) will be prepared and distributed to the Commission at the time of the <br />meeting for their consideration along with the consent agenda. <br /> <br />B. Regular Agenda. All items to be included in the regular agenda shall be presented to <br />the City Manager or City Clerk prior to 12:00 noon on the Tuesday preceding the regular <br />Commission meeting, or not less than three (3) hours prior to any special (or emergency) meeting of <br />the Commission. <br /> <br />C. Regular Meeting Agenda Preparation. The City Clerk will assemble and prepare a <br />an agenda from the issues submitted, and forward the draft agenda to the Mayor prior to the end of <br />the work day on Tuesday. The Mayor will then review the agenda to ensure items previously <br />requested publicly by the City Commission are included; and, if so, will approve the agenda prior to <br />Wednesday noon. The final agenda will then be prepared, available, and posted in accordance with <br />State Statutes. Any additions to the agenda after posting shall be presented to the City Commission <br />for review and approval as far in advance of the meeting as possible, and shall be primarily limited to <br />those items which are time-sensitive in nature which cannot be postponed to the next regular City <br />Commission meeting. <br /> <br />2. Commission Meetinl!s. <br /> <br />A. Meeting Time. Regular meetings of the City Commission shall commence at 7:00 <br />P.M. unless an alternative time has been designated by Public Notice. The City Commission shall <br />vote at 9:30 p.m. whether the agenda will be modified in light of the time remaining. Special <br />meetings of the City Commission shall commence at the specific time designated by the Public <br />Notice. <br /> <br />2 <br />
