CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of May 10, 2004 - Regular Meeting <br />Page I6 of 17 <br /> <br />8. COMMISSION/STAFF REPORTS <br /> <br />Comnfissioner Susan Doemer - Seat #1: <br /> <br />Reported that it was her intention to meet with Seminole County Commissioner Randy Morris <br />regarding status of funding for the proposed trail systems with'm the City of Casselberry~ <br />Commissioner Doerner voiced concerns regarding the lack of funding available to Casselberry. <br />Mayor Pronovost requested staff to research and obtain in writing from Seminole County thc status <br />of funding for trail systems within the City. <br />Reported a senior citizen from Summerset has contacted her with concerns regarding the ability of <br />senior citizens on fixed incomes to pay for the proposed subdivision wall assessment. Mr. Clifton <br />stated staff was still working on how to approach the wall assessment. <br />Reported the residents along Sunnytown Road have voiced concerns regarding the lack of a buffer <br />between adjoining properties and the development of the Decker property. Commissioner Doerner <br />requested staff research to see if the existing buffer located near the new park actually belongs to <br />the City and if so, if it could be maintained as a buffer for those affected residents. <br /> <br />Commissioner Kathy Cook - Seat #2: <br /> <br />Commended the award recipients honored at the Fifth Annual Police Officers' Award Ceremony <br />held April 29, 2004. <br /> <br />Commissioner Linda Hart - Seat #3: <br /> <br />Commended the award recipients honored at the Fifth Annual Police Officers' Award Ceremony <br />held April 29, 2004. <br />Reported CALNO has continued work on the proposed traffic enforcement interlocal agreement and <br />hopes to have it ready to present to the Association of Police Chiefs, the Florida League of Cities, <br />as well as the various cities in Seminole County and the Sheriff's Office over the summer. Fugther <br />reported she was tentatively requesting the City Commission to consider the matter in July. <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Al Clark - Seat <br /> <br />Commended the Parks & Recreation Department for the Chili Challenge that was held on May 1, <br />2004. <br />Commented on the preliminary plan for the CIP property across the street from City Hall and <br />suggested trying to create a connecting green space area between City Hall and the proposed <br />community center that would allow for improved pedestrian access and could double as overflow <br />parking. <br /> <br />Mayor Bruce Pronovost - Seat #5: <br /> <br />Noted the City was in receipt of a letter from Kevin Fall dated April 26, 2004 regarding Altamonte <br />Springs first refusal on taking over a private water system in the Fern Park area and suggested staff <br />look into the matter further to see if it would be a good opportunity for the City. <br /> <br /> <br />
