The Community OeYelopment Department is responsible <br />for Planning & Zoning, Code Enforcement, Community Redevelopment and Building, <br />and City Codes are available on the depadment's link. There is also public education <br />information available on fire prevention and crime prevention. The Water Restriction <br />policy, for drought mitigation, also is available to the public at: <br />http:llwww, casselberry.orq/PDFslPub Works/Water Restrictions 2001.pdf. A televised <br />special on a local cable station featuring emergency managers from Seminole and <br />surrounding counties, focused on preparedness and mitigation, with call-ins from the <br />public this summer, which was available to viewers in the city. <br /> <br />As with other planning efforts, the city will take the opportunity to explain the mitigation <br />planning process to the community and to solicit their input and involvement in the <br />planning process, as well as to provide mitigation awareness and educational <br />information. This may be done through the mechanism of a public meeting or hearing, <br />or through media releases, as well as inclusion of information about other types of <br />hazards on the city website. <br /> <br />Casselberry will continue to provide information to the public and provide outreach <br />activities to the community in conjunction with area businesses and other private or non- <br />profit entities, particularly during the hurricane season. <br /> <br />Summa~ <br /> <br />The City Casselberry has been an active participant in the planning process, making <br />considerable progress in the assessment process particularly. The Task Force <br />recognizes that it will take a long pedod of time and implementation of many if not all of <br />the proposed initiatives approved for this plan, to make Seminole County a truly <br />disaster-resistant community. However, the continuing dedication to the safety and <br />welfare of the community shown by the participants in this planning process will make <br />this ambitious goal possible. <br /> <br /> <br />
