Employees shall maintain this coveraqe for as Ionq as they are assiqned a vehicle <br />and are authorized to transport children and must provide the Department Director <br />with 30 days notice before cancelinq such coveraqe. Employees shall show proof of <br />this coveraqe from their insurance carrier and acknowledqe such conditions. <br /> <br />i) <br /> <br />Employees who are assigned to operate a City vehicle to perform official duties shall be <br />permitted to take all authorized breaks and lunches within the assigned area, but shall <br />not leave the assigned area without authorization from their immediate supervisor. <br /> <br />k) Employees assigned City vehicles will drive in a manner consistent with all traffic <br /> regulations of the State of Florida. <br /> <br />I) Anyone failing to comply with the City's Vehicle Use Policies or with State or local traffic <br /> regulations will be reported to the Department Director for appropriate action. <br /> <br />m) <br /> <br />In addition to warranted discipline, the Department Director or City Manager shall have <br />the right to deny, until remedied, the use of a City vehicle to anyone found violating rules <br />contained herein. <br /> <br />i1) <br /> <br />A supervisor may temporarily remove the privileqe of the use of an assiqned vehicle <br />when he believes any operator is not compynq with the Vehicle Use Policy or <br />departmental policy. The supervisor will immediately inform the Department Director of <br />his action. <br /> <br />o) The Department Director, or desiqnee, may revoke the privileqe of the use of a City <br /> vehicle. <br /> <br />p) Employees assiqned a City vehicle must inform the Department Director of a chanqe in <br /> residence within 24 hours of the chanqe. <br /> <br />q) Employees are responsible for knowtedqe and compliance with individual department <br /> policies for the use of motor vehicles. <br /> <br />7) LIABILITY FOR VEHICLE USE, REPORTING REQUIREMENTS <br /> <br />a) <br /> <br />Any damage to a city vehicle (on or off duty hours) or personally owned vehicle used for <br />City business will be reported to the immediate supervisor and Department Director upon <br />occurrence. The supervisor will initiate the appropriate accident report and enfome <br />druq/alcohol testinq requirements as appropriate, and ncr!fy tho !nsur=nco Off!cc. ,",,ny <br />The police accident report will also be submitted. <br /> <br />b) In the event of an accident, employees and supervisors must follow the procedures of the <br /> Safety & Health Manual, Accident Reportinq and Investiqation section. <br /> <br />c) <br /> <br />Major accidents involving significant damage to vehicles or property, or injury to <br />employees or to the public, shall be immediately reported to the City Manager for <br />!nfcrmat!~n. <br /> <br />d) <br /> <br />All vehicles which are in a non-serviceable condition, or which are found to have unsafe <br />equipment, will be reported in writing to the immediate supervisor or Department Director <br />for initiation of appropriate corrective action. <br /> <br />e) <br /> <br />Employees consensually operating private personal vehicles in the performance of duties <br />shall maintain basic insurance as required by the State of Florida. The City of <br />Casselberry reserves the right to request from the employee verification of insurance <br />coverage. <br /> <br /> <br />
