RESOLUTION 07-1767 - DESIGNATION OF 1150 BELLE AVENUE AS A <br />BROWNFIELD AREA BY SATICOY INVESTMENTS COMPANY. LLC <br /> <br />The City Clerk read Resolution 07-1767 by title as follows: <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, MAKING FINDINGS; <br />DESIGNATING PARCEL 04-21-30-5Il-OAOO-0080 AS A BROWNFIELD AREA <br />WITHIN THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY FOR THE PURPOSE OF ENVIRONMENTAL <br />REHABILITATION AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, AND PROVIDING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE." <br /> <br />Notice of Public Hearing: Notice ofthe Public Hearing was advertised in the Orlando Sentinel on February <br />13,2007, pursuant to Chapter 376.80, Florida Statutes. Property owners within 500 feet were also notified <br />by mail and the site was posted. <br /> <br />Staff Presentation: Ms. Sandra Smith, Acting Community Development Director, stated the Public Hearing <br />provides an opportunity for citizen input prior to the City Commission adopting Resolution 07-1767 to <br />designate approximately 8.35 acres as a Brownfield area, pursuant to Chapter 376.80, Florida Statutes. The <br />property is located near the southwest comer of Belle Avenue at State Road 434. The Brownfield <br />designation will allow an agreement between Saticoy Investments Company, LLC and the Florida <br />Department of Environmental Protection to establish environmental remediation of the property and allow <br />the redevelopment and reuse of the site. Saticoy is the applicant for the property owner, Micro-Via, Inc. The <br />City has no financial obligation for rehabilitation and remediation of the area. Site remediation will enable <br />the owner to redevelop the site for commercial, industrial or office uses. <br /> <br />Budget Impact: There is no budget impact from this item. <br /> <br />Recommendation: The City Manager and Acting Community Development Director recommended the <br />referral of Resolution 07-1767 to a second public hearing on March 12, 2007 for action regarding the <br />Brownfield designation of property located at 1150 Belle Avenue. <br /> <br />Public Hearing: The following individuals addressed the Brownsfield designation: <br /> <br />I) Richard Casselberry, P.O. Box 180595, Casselberry, FL 32718, a letter was received from <br />Mr. Casselberry dated February 14,2007. Ms. Smith read the letter into the record and a <br />copy is attached to and made a part ofthese minutes. <br />
