Goucher, P.E.

Subject:

Proposal for Subsurface Soil Exploration and
Geotechnical Engineering Evaluation
Proposed South Water Plant Forced Draft Aeration
City of Casselberry, Florida

Dear Mr. Goucher:

As req uested, we are pleased to present this proposal for conducting a subsurface soil exploration
and geotechnical engineering evaluation for the subject project. Based on information supplied by
you, the proposed development includes a two-tower aeration system on slab-on-grade, a concrete
transfer pump station c1earwall extending 10 feet below grade, and a biofilter mounted on slab-on-
grade, and a wet stormwater pond.

Grading plans are not cOmplete at this time, therefore, we have assumed that approximately 0 to
3 feet of fill is required to raise the structure areas to final elevatlon(s). Typical loading conditions
and anticipated foundation sizes for the structures are not known at this time. We recommend that
this information be provided prior to beginning the field exploration to verify that the number and
depths of borings are appropriate.

The scope of our work will include determining if the bearing capacity and other soil characteristics
are suitable to construct the proposed structures. In addition, we will explore the soil stratigraphy
in the stormwater detention area. We will also estimate the normal seasonal high groundwater
table at the boring locations.

The following summarizes our proposed scope of work and associated fees for conducting the
subject exploration.

8008 S.
