<br />City Commission Meeting <br />October 13, 1006 <br />Page 8 <br /> <br />FOR LAKE IMPROVEMENTS OF NORTH TRIPLET LAKE AND MIDDLE <br />TRIPLET LAKE; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY AND <br />EFFECTIVE DATE." <br /> <br />Staff Presentation: Resolution 06-1729 authorizes an agreement with Seminole County for the acceptance <br />of a Seminole County Boating Improvement Grant for the improvements to the boat launch area at Secret <br />Lake Park and improvements to the canal that connects Middle Lake Triplet and North Lake Triplet. The <br />amount of the grant is $46,200 and the agreement requires the City to pay the expenses up front and be <br />reimbursed by the grant upon completion of the improvements. Public Works and Parks staff will provide <br />both design and construction for the project. A budget transfer in the amount of $46,200, recognizing both <br />the expense and the revenue, is also presented for approval as part of the process. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: Approval of Resolution 06-1729 as presented. <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Moved by Commissioner Susan Doerner to approve Resolution 06-1729, <br />Seminole County Boating Improvement Program, as presented. Motion was <br />seconded by Commissioner Colleen S. Hufford and carried on a 5 _ 0 vote. <br /> <br />G. Resolution 06-1730 - Agreement with Ruby Builders for Design Services for the Parks and <br />Recreation Administration Offices Relocation - $46,000 <br /> <br />The City Clerk read Resolution 06-1730 by title as follows: <br /> <br />'A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A <br />CONTRACT WITH RUBY BUILDERS FOR THE DESIGN AND RENOVATION OF <br />THE ABANDONED FIRE STATION 21 BUILDING FOR USE BY THE PARKS <br />AND RECREATION ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES; PROVIDING FOR <br />CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY AND EFFECTIVE DATE." <br /> <br />Staff Presentation: Resolution 06-1730 approves a cooperative purchase agreement with Ruby Builders <br />for design and construction services related to the relocation of the Parks and Recreation Administrative <br />Offices to the abandoned Fire Station 21 space. The relocation of the Parks and Recreation Administrative <br />Offices is necessary in order to accomplish the renovations to Anniversary Park. The relocation of the Parks <br />Offices, which will be comprised of twelve offices that will be in an open space environment using modular <br />furniture, will require both design and construction services to renovate the outdated Fire Station space into <br />usable office space. A budget transfer in the amount of $46,000 is necessary for the first part of the <br />designlbuild contract. The funding is available in Account #00 I -041 0-572.48-00. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: Approval of Resolution 06-1730 as presented. <br /> <br />Audience Input: John Casselberry, 700 S. Lost Lake Lane, Casselberry, Florida, recommended the City <br />not demolish the building currently being used by the Park and Recreation Department. <br />
