<br />City Commission Meeting <br />June 26, 2006 <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />Mayor Goff stated that he would be voting in opposition to the rezoning request because in his opinion there <br />should have been an administrative rezoning which would allow for continuity in the area and also protect <br />the rights of the individual property owners. <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Moved by Commissioner Colleen S. Hufford to approve Ordinance 06-1195, <br />Zoning Map Amendment, as presented. Motion was seconded by <br />Commissioner Susan Doerner and carried on a 3 - 1 vote. Mayor Goff <br />dissenting. <br /> <br />B. BA 06-07 Variance Application - Code of Ordinances, Chapter X, Alcoholic Beverages - La Perrada <br />Cafe (Javier Prado), 1555 Seminola Boulevard., Winter Park <br /> <br />Staff Presentation: The Acting Community Development Director indicated that the Variance Application <br />from LaPerrada was not required; the distance requirements were incorrectly calculated and staff requests <br />the item be withdrawn. The owner will be able to obtain his alcoholic beverage license without having to <br />go through the variance process. The owner is in agreement with the withdrawal request. <br /> <br />9. Consent A!!enda <br /> <br />A. Excuse Absence of Vice Mayor/Commissioner Linda Hart <br /> <br />B. Interim City Manager Employment Agreement (Moved under Old Business 10. A.) <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Moved by Commissioner Susan Doerner to approve the Consent Agenda as <br />amended. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Colleen S. Hufford and <br />carried on a 4 - 0 vote. <br /> <br />10. Old Business <br /> <br />A. Interim City Manager Employment Agreement <br /> <br />The City Attorney stated that the only change to the contract that was presented in the Agenda Packet was <br />in Section 8, which deletes the car allowance and gives the City Manager use of a City vehicle or mileage <br />ifthe City vehicle is not available for long distance use. <br /> <br />Commissioner Cook stated she was opposed to the Contract and would be voting in opposition for the <br />following reasons: <br /> <br />. A Six Month Guarantee Provision in the Contract with no Provision ifhe terminates <br />. The Vacation and Sick Leave Accruals (he accrues at the same rate as Department Heads - he should <br />be paid the same way) <br />Scheduled vacation from July 7 through 20, 2006 is not deducted from his accruals <br />The $2,700 housing allowance, Commission had discussed an allowance of $2,000 <br />$ I 0,000 was ample compensation for a temporary employee <br />
