Second Reading of Ordinance 06-1175 - Occupational License Fees <br /> <br />The City Clerk read Ordinance 06-1175 by title as follows: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AMENDING <br />THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, BY <br />SUBSTANTIALLY AMENDING, REVISING AND UPDATING CHAPTER 26, <br />"OCCUPATIONAL LICENSE TAX"; AMENDING SECTION 26.26 <br />"DEFINITIONS" TO EXPAND THE TERM "BUSINESS"; AMENDING SECTION <br />26.33, "LICENSE REQUIRED", TO CLARIFY LANGUAGE; AMENDING <br />SECTION 26.36, "PREREQUISITES FOR ISSUANCE OF LICENSE", ADDING <br />DESIGNEE; DELETION OF 26.38(C), "DISPLAY OF LICENSE IDENTIFICATION <br />STICKERS"; AMENDING SECTION 26.39, "TRANSFER OF LICENSE", <br />INCREASING THE TRANSFER FEE; SECTION 26.40 "REPLACEMENT OF <br />LICENSE FEE", INCREASING REPLACEMENT FEE; SECTION 26.43 <br />"EXEMPTIONS", ADDING LANGUAGE TO INCLUDE NONPROFIT <br />ORGANIZATION REQUIREMENTS; SECTION 26.44 "DELINQUENCY; <br />PENALTY FOR FAILURE TO OBTAIN LICENSE", AMENDING AND ADDING <br />LANGUAGE FOR DELINQUENT OCCUPATIONAL LICENSES; SECTION 26.45 <br />"FEE SCHEDULE", ADOPTING AN UPDATED FEE SCHEDULE; PROVIDING <br />FOR SEVERABILITY, CODIFICATION, CONFLICTS AND AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE." <br /> <br />Le!!al Advertisement: Ordinance 06-1175 was advertised in the Orlando Sentinel on Sunday, January 29, <br />2006. <br /> <br />Staff Presentation: Ordinance 06-1175 was approved by the Commission on first reading on January 23, <br />2006. This ordinance updates the City's Occupational Fees and conforms with the Tax Equity Study by <br />increasing fees by 5 percent. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation, The form and content was reviewed by the City Attorney and staff recommends <br />approval of Ordinance 06-1175 on second and final reading. The vote must be approved by a majority of <br />the Commission plus one for enactment. <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Moved by Commissioner Colleen S. Hufford to <br />approve Ordinance 06-1175, Occupational License <br />Fees, as presented. The motion was seconded by <br />Commissioner Susan Doerner and carried <br />unanimously by voice vote.
