Approval of A!!enda <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Moved by Commissioner Susan Dorner to approve the <br />Agenda as modified. The motion was seconded by <br />Commissioner Linda Hart and carried unanimously by <br />voice vote. (5 - 0) <br /> <br />6. Presentations <br /> <br />A. Revitalizing Casselberry: Casselberry City Center by Unicorp National Developments, Inc. <br />and Casselberry Civic Center by the City of Casselberry <br /> <br />The Commission was presented with a report entitled "Revitalizing Casselberry", which addresses the <br />Casselberry City Center by Unicorp National Developments, Inc. and the Casselberry Civic Center by the <br />City of Casselberry. The two projects are ready to move forward after intense negotiations and discussions <br />between Unicorp and the City over the last three months. An agreement has been reached with Unicorp <br />National Development for the City Center project. The City will go to bid for the Civic Center project. Two <br />weeks are provided for input and/or questions from the Commission and the Community regarding the <br />projects. <br /> <br />The main thrust of the two projects is economic growth for the community which will be a $55.5 Million <br />development, the revitalization of U.S. Highway 17-92 corridor/CRA District, significant new tax, new <br />homes, restaurants, retail shops, lakefront venue for cultural events and no new taxes for Casselberry <br />residents. <br /> <br />The City Manager gave a recap of the projects as follows: <br /> <br />Casselberrv City Center Bv Unicorp National Developments. Inc. <br /> <br />. $42 Million Development (108 Townhomes, Two Restaurants, Bank/Office Building, <br />13,500 Square Feet of Retail Space and 206 Parking Spaces) <br /> <br />City Center Project Timeline - Project Construction commences February 2, 2007 <br /> <br />Casselberrv Civic Center bv the Citv of Casselberrv <br /> <br />$13.5 Million Development (30,000 Square Feet, Banquet Room, Conference/Convention <br />Space; Lakefront Location for Park, Amphitheater and Boardwalk) <br /> <br />. Casselberry Civic Center Timeline - Project Construction commences March 30, 2007; <br />Estimated Completion Date March 27, 2008 <br />
