Tony Segreto, Public Works Director
September 4, 1997
Page 2

with the city will be selected to perform a project, it may do so. It
may be advisable for the city to adopt an ordinance or develop an
administrative rule or procedure to insure that these criteria are
applied uniformly to all continuing contracts into which the city enters,

Therefore, should the City of Casselberry decide to place more than one professional engineering firm
under a continuing contract, the City should:

1, Develop criteria for determining which firm under continuing contract
will be selected to perform a project and adopt the criteria by
ordinance or formally as a rule or procedure.

2, Advise the professional engineering firm that the City will have more
than one firm under continuing contract.

3. Provide in each continuing contract that given projects will be
negotiated in subsequent addenda and awarded pursuant to the City's
established selection criteria.

I called the City of Ormond Beach and asked for a copy of the criteria they developed in response to
AGO 93-56. I have attached the relevant portion of their code. After you have had an opportunity
to review same, please contact me.

Very truly yours,

STENSTROM, McINTOSH, COLBERT,
WIDGHAM & SONS, PA.

1x!J¡ßJ1

Enclosure

cc: Jack Schluckebier, City Manager
Eduardo J Torres, P.E.

f:\files\dlm\cities\casselberry\letterslsegreto.02: drl
