Resolution 05-1635 - Contract Agreement with Blandes Design-Build for Construction of <br />Hunterfield Water Facility ($900,000.00 and Related Budget Transfer of$150,000.00) <br /> <br />The City Clerk read Resolution 05-1635 by title as follows: <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING <br />THE AWARD OF BID TO BRANDES DESIGN-BUILD, INC, TO CONSTRUCT <br />THE HUNTERFIELD WATER FACILITY; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, <br />SEVERABILITY AND EFFECTIVE DATE," <br /> <br />Staff Presentation: Resolution 05-1635 requests authorization for award of bid for construction services <br />for the development of Hunter field Water Facility. As part ofthe City's Water Master Plan, the Hunterfield <br />Water Facility will consist of a new ground storage tank with two high service pumps. Public Works <br />advertised for qualified firms and received two bids for the project. The lowest bid was from Brandes <br />Design-Build, Inc., total cost $900,000.00. Mr. Segreto stated that increases in the cost of construction <br />materials would require a budget transfer from Fund Balance in the amount of $150,000.00. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: Approve Resolution 05-1635, awarding bid to Brandes Design-Build, Inc. in the <br />amount of $900,000.00 and approve budget transfer of $150,000.00. <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Moved by Commissioner Colleen S, Hufford to approve Resolntion 05-1635, <br />Hnnterfield Water Facility bid to Brandes Design-Build, Inc" in the amonnt <br />of $900,000.00 and approve Budget Transfer in the amount of $150,000,00, <br />The motion was seconded by Commissioner Linda Hart and carried <br />unanimonsly by voice vote. (5 - 0) <br /> <br />G. Resolution 05-1636 - Contract Agreement with Chinchor Electric, Inc. For Traffic Light Upgrades <br />to Opticom ($176,445.00 and Related Budget Transfer $12,1 17.00) <br /> <br />The City Clerk read Resolution 05-1636 by title as follows: <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING <br />THE EXECUTION OF ACCEPTANCE OF A PROPOSAL FROM CHlNCHOR <br />ELECTRIC, INC, TO PROVIDE ALL EQUIPMENT AND SERVICES TO <br />UPGRADE 24 TRAFFIC SIGNALS TO FULL FOUR-WAY PRE-EMPTION <br />(OPTICOM); PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILlTY,AND EFFECTIVE <br />DATE," <br /> <br />Staff Presentation: The Casselberry Fire Department obtained a grant from the United states Department <br />of Homeland Security to fund upgrading the traffic signals in the City to full Opticom devices. Opticom is <br />the emergency pre-emption equipment utilized by the City and Seminole County emergency vehicles to <br />change traffic signals to green in their direction of travel. The City desires to have four-way Opticom <br />equipmentat 23 signalized intersections in the City. The Grant amount received was $121 ,288.00 with a City <br />
