RESOLUTION 05-1630 "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, MODIFYING THE BOARD APPOINTMENT PROCEDURES POLICY TO ADD SECTION CLARIFYING THE ROLE OF THE CITY MANAGER IN SCREENING POTENTIAL APPLICANTS AND ADD CLARIFICATION OUTLINING THE ORDER VOTING WILL OCCUR BASED ON THE LENGTH OF THE TERM; AMEND SECTION 6 TO INCLUDE TIME PROVISION ON TRAINING NEWLY APPOINTED BOARD MEMBERS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY AND EFFECTIVE DATE." WHEREAS, the City Commission on April 11,2005 passed Resolution 05-1572 adopting a Board Appointment Procedures Policy; and WHEREAS, the City Commission on October 10, 2005 by consensus authorized staff to add a provision clarifYing the role of the City Manager in screening potential applicants; and WHEREAS, the City Commission on October 10, 2005 by consensus authorized staff to add a provision clarifYing how the order of voting would occur based on the length of the term; and WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to amend Section 6 ofthe Policy by adding the provision that newly appointed Board Members will be required to attend a training session "within one rear of aopointment". NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The City Commission hereby adopts the revised Board Appointment Procedures attached hereto as Exhibit "A". SECTION 2. Conflicts. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict with any of the provisions of this Resolution are hereby repealed. SECTION 3. Severabilitv. If any Section or portion of a Section of this Resolution proves to be invalid, unlawful, or unconstitutional, it shall not be held to invalidate or impair the validity, force, or effect of any other Section or part of this Resolution. SECTION 4. Effective Date. passage and adoption. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its PASSED AND ADOPTED this 24th Day of October ,2005.
