CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION
Minutes of July 25, 2005 . Regular Meeting
Page 21 of22

XI. COMMISSION REPORTSIREQUESTS

Commissioner Susan Doerner - Seat #1:
· No report.

Commissioner Kathy Cook - Seat #2:
· No report.

Commissioner Colleen Hufford - Seat #4:
· In reference to Ms. Rutherford's comments earlier in the meeting regarding garage sale signage,
Commissioner Hufford suggested posting garage sales with addresses on the City's website and to
post the locations on a map on the bulletin board and website, as an alternative to off site signage.
· Noted she recently visited Indiana and that she noticed that some cities that had older housing stock
and were built out were being proactive to ensure that their community is livable and a place where
people desire to move to, and some cities, including the her hometown, were not taking care to
create redevelopment and were becoming decaying communities. Furthernoted that the Commission
needs to define what the City is and create good redevelopment.

Vice Mayor Linda Hart - Seat #3:
· No report.

Mayor Bob Goff - Seat #5:
· Requested a status report regarding the Department of Community Affairs' (DCA) review of the
proposed Comprehensive Plan changes for the City Center. Mr. Wells stated the DCA has requested
a traffic study for impacts the proposed Unicorp development will have on U.S. Highway 17-92.
The alternative offered by DCA to the traffic study was to commit to the Unicorp plan as submitted.
Mr. Wells stated he has solicited the help of Metroplan to assist the City on this matter.

XII. STAFF REPORTS

Tony Segreto - Interim City Manager:
No report.

Catherine Reischmann - City Attorney:
· Reported the City recently prevailed in the Hattaway vs. City lawsuit regarding the Board of
Adjustment's decision to not allow the Hattaway billboard to be reconstructed after it was blown
down by one of the 2004 hurricanes. The case can be appealed through mid-August and she noted
she was confident the City would prevail again if the case is appealed.
