<br />CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of June 27, 2005 - Regular Meeting <br />Page 12 of 16 <br /> <br />Staff Presentation: Mr. Fortini stated Resolution 05-1591 provides for a joint planning agreement with <br />the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for upgrades to the median landscaping on U.S. <br />Highway 17-92 between Piney Ridge Road and Button Road. FDOT has committed $149,500.00 to <br />assist in the cost of the project and the City has designated $86,075.00 from the Tree Fund to fund the <br />balance of the project. Staff recommended approval of Resolution 05-1591. <br /> <br />Audience Participation: No audience comment request forms were received for this item. <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Hart moved to approve Resolution 05-1591 as presented. <br />Motion was seconded by Commissioner Doerner. Motion carried <br />unanimously by voice vote. <br /> <br />Mayor Goff declared a recess at 9:35 p.m. The meeting was reconvened at 9:40 p.m. <br /> <br />J. FLORIDA URBAN & COMMUNITY FORESTRY 2005 EMERGENCY HURRICANE <br />SUPPLEMENTAL GRANT PROGRAM <br /> <br />Staff Presentation: Mr. Fortini stated Resolution 05-1592 provides for a grant application and <br />memorandum of agreement with the State of Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services <br />Division of Forestry for the Florida Urban and Community Forestry 2005 Emergency Hurricane <br />Supplemental Grant Program. Subject grant application is for tree replacement at Secret Lake Park, <br />Plumosa Oaks Park and Anniversary Park in the amount of $150,000 (includes City match of $37,500). <br />Mr. Fortini stated Resolution 05-1593 provides for a memorandum of agreement with the State of Florida <br />Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Division of Forestry for tree maintenance of trees <br />purchased through the Florida Urban and Community Forestry 2005 Emergency Hurricane Supplemental <br />Grant Program. Staff recommended approval of Resolution 05-1592 and Resolution 05-1593. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 05-1592 GRANT APPLICATIONIMEMORANDUM OF <br />AGREEMENT FOR TREE REPLACEMENT AT SECRET LAKE PARK. <br />PLUMOSA OAKS PARK & ANNIVERSARY PARK <br /> <br />The City Clerk read Resolution 05-1592 by title as follows: <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, TO ENTER INTO A <br />MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF FLORIDA, DEPARTMENT OF <br />AGRICULTURE AND CONSUMER SERVICES, DIVISION OF FORESTRY FOR AN URBAN AND <br />COMMUNITY FORESTRY GRANT; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY AND <br />EFFECTIVE DATE." <br /> <br />Audience Participation: One (l) audience comment request form was received for this item. The <br />following individual came forward: <br /> <br />I) John Casselberry, 700 South Lost Lake Lane, voiced concerns regarding tree loss resulting <br />from the 2004 hurricanes and suggested the City distribute replacement trees to citizens if there <br />were funds available. <br />
