Public Hearing and First Reading of Ordinance 05-1162 - Annexation of North Winter <br />Park Drive Area <br /> <br />The Clerk read Ordinance 05-1162 as follows: <br /> <br />"AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, <br />RELATING TO VOLUNTARY ANNEXATION; MAKING FINDINGS; <br />ANNEXING TO AND INCLUDING WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF <br />THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, CERTAIN LANDS LOCATED <br />IN SECTION 4, TOWNSHIP 21S, RANGE 30E; REDEFINING THE <br />CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA; <br />PROVIDING FOR THE INTERIM PROVISION OF LAND DEVELOPMENT <br />REGULATIONS; PROVIDING THAT CERTAIN COUNTY LICENSEES <br />FOLLOWING THEIR BUSINESS, TRADE OR PROFESSION WITHIN THE <br />LANDS TO BE ANNEXED MAY CONTINUE TO FOLLOW SUCH <br />BUSINESS, TRADE OR PROFESSION THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE <br />CORPORATE LIMITS WITHOUT THE NECESSITY OF FURTHER <br />QUALIFICATION THEREFORE; PROVIDING THAT EFFECTIVE IN <br />ACCORDANCE WITH LAW, THE LANDS TO BE ANNEXED SHALL BE <br />ASSESSED FOR PAYMENT OF MUNICIPAL AD VALOREM TAXES; <br />DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO FILE CERTIFIED COPIES OF THE <br />ORDINANCE WITH THE CLERK OF COURT AND THE SECRETARY OF <br />STATE OF THE STATE OF FLORIDA; AND PROVIDING FOR <br />CODIFICATION CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE." <br /> <br />Staff PresentationlRecommendation: <br /> <br />The vacant property, approximately 14.3 acres, to be annexed was recently purchased by the City and <br />is located near Belle Avenue. The property gives the City a property ownership position and will <br />facilitate the application of City growth management regulations. The property meets the criteria for <br />annexation per Florida Statutes and wíll not create an enclave. Mr. Wells recommended approval of <br />Ordinance 05-1162 on first reading and schedule the final public hearing for June 27, 2005. <br />
