<br />CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of February 28, 2005 . Executive Session & Regular Meeting <br />Page 5 of 14 <br /> <br />Applications must be received one week prior to a meeting when appointments are on the agenda. <br />Require applicants to rank in numerical order preference for appointment if indicating interest in <br />more than one board. <br />· Note general meeting days and times on the application. <br />The City Commission will discuss the merits of applicants prior to each vote. <br />· Current board member attendance information will be provided to the City Commission for <br />applicants requesting reappointment. <br />Implementation of basic background checks on applicants to all boards. Background check <br />information will not be submitted to the City Commission for public discussion. The City Manager <br />and City Clerk will determine internally ifthere is a reason to challenge an applicant's qualifications <br />based on background check information. <br />· Revisions to the application to also include reference to an oath attesting to the correctness of <br />information provided, commitment to attendance, and possible further educational training. <br /> <br />Audience Participation: No audience comment request forms were received for this item. <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Commissioner Doerner moved to direct staff to <br />formulate a resolution encompassing the Selection by <br />Preferred Choice Vote (Equalized Selectiou Process) <br />and additional items discussed as a board appointment <br />policy to be brought back to the City Commission for <br />formal consideration. Motion was seconded by <br />Commissioner Cook. Motion carried unanimously by <br />voice vote. <br /> <br />B. BOARD APPOINTMENTS - BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT - 2 SEATS <br /> <br />There were two (2) unexpired term appointments to be made to the Board of Adjustment. The City <br />Commission discussed the merits of the applicants. Commission consensus was to consider all five <br />applications even though some were not completely filled out, since the applicants had not been made aware <br />ofthe new criteria to only consider complete applications. Ballots were distributed to the City Commission <br />to vote for two (2) applicants to fill the unexpired terms. <br /> <br />Audience Participation: No audience comment request forms were received for this item. <br /> <br />City Commission ballots for the Board of Adjustment was read into the record by the City Clerk as follows: <br /> <br />Commissioner Doerner: <br />Commissioner Cook: <br />Vice Mayor Hart: <br />Commissioner Hufford: <br />Mayor Goff: <br /> <br />Stanley Weinroth <br />Stanley Weinroth <br />Alva E.
