RESOLUTION 05-1559 - STATE OF FLORIDA RECREATION DEVELOPMENT <br />ASSISTANCE PROGRAM GRANT EXTENSION FOR FOREST BROOK PARK <br />DEVELOPMENT <br /> <br />The City Clerk read Resolution 05-1559 by title as follows: <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, <br />FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN EXTENSION TO THE AGREEMENT <br />WITH THE STATE OF FLORIDA, DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL <br />PROTECTION RELATING TO FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FROM THE FLORIDA <br />RECREATION DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM FOR THE <br />DEVELOPMENT OF FOREST BROOK PARK; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, <br />SEVERABILITY AND EFFECTIVE DATE." <br /> <br />Staff Presentation: Mr. Fortini stated Resolution 05-1559 provides for an extension ofthe agreement with <br />the Florida Department of Environmental Protection grant until May 31,2005 for the development of Forest <br />BrookPark. Mr. Fortini stated it would be difficult to meet the May 31, 2005 deadline and the State will not <br />grant any further extensions for this grant. Mr. Fortini stated the City Commission could approve Resolution <br />05-1559 to accept the extension, or deny the extension so that the State can release the grant money. The <br />City could reapply for the grant at a later date. Mr. Clifton recommended denying the extension to the grant. <br /> <br />Audience Participation: No audience comment request forms were received for this item. <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Commissioner Doerner moved to deny Resolution 05- <br />1559. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Cook. <br />Motion carried 3 - 1 (Mayor Goff dissenting) by voice <br />vote. <br /> <br />J. RESOLUTION 05-1560 - PURCHASE OF MONGER PROPERTY FOR <br />PLUMOSA OAKS PARK <br /> <br />The City Clerk read Resolution 05-1560 by title as follows: <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE <br />MAYOR TO EXECUTE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS FOR THE PURCHASE OF REAL <br />ESTATE ON PLUMOSA AVENUE, LOT 5, BLOCKH, FERN PARK ESTATES, PLAT <br />BOOK 5, PAGES 10-12, AS LISTED IN THE LEGAL DESCRIPTIONS OF THE REAL <br />PROPERTY LOCATED IN SEMINOLE COUNTY, FLORIDA; PROVIDING FOR <br />CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE." <br /> <br />Staff Presentation: Mr. Fortini stated Resolution 05-1560 provides for purchase of vacant land to expand <br />Plumosa Oak Park for the amount of $100,000. Staff recommended approval of Resolution 05-1560 as <br />presented. Upon approval, the Parks & Recreation Department will pursue the option of developing a small <br />
