<br />CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of January 24, 1005 ~ Regular Meeting <br />Pagel0of17 <br /> <br />Audience Participation: No audience comment request forms were received for the Special Invoice and <br />Minor Contracts/Amendments Authorization Report. <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Hart moved to approve the Special Invoice <br />and Minor Contracts/Amendments Authorization <br />Report dated January 24, 2005 as preseuted. Motion <br />was seconded by Commissioner Hufford. Motion <br />carried unanimously by voice vote. <br /> <br />B. RESOLUTION 05-1553 - CONTRACT WITH CENTRAL ENVIRONMENTAL <br />SERVICES FOR CITY CAMPUS AREA DEMOLITION SERVICES <br /> <br />The City Clerk read Resolution 05-1553 by title as follows: <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING <br />CENTRAL ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES, INC. TO PROVIDE DEMOLITION <br />SERVICES FOR THE CITY CAMPUS AREA; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, <br />SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE." <br /> <br />Staff Presentation: Mr. Segreto stated Resolution 05-1553 provides for a cooperative purchase under the <br />City of Orlando agreement for demolition services with Central Environmental Services, Inc. In the amount <br />of$32,550.00 to demolish the old post office building, the old Shell gas station building and the old vehicle <br />inspection building across the street from City Hall. Staff recommended approval of Resolution 05-1553 as <br />presented. <br /> <br />Audience Participation: One (I) audience comment request form was submitted for Resolution 05-1553. <br />The following individual came forward: <br /> <br />1) John Casselberry, 700 South Lost Lake Lane, spoke in opposition to Resolution 05-1553 <br />and requested to salvage the flag pole from the old post office site. <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Hart moved to approve Resolution 05-1553 <br />as presented. Motion was seconded by Commissioner <br />Cook. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote. <br /> <br />C. APPOINTMENT OF CITY LEGAL COUNSEL ON PENSION MATTERS <br /> <br />Staff Presentation: Mr. Dreier stated the City Commission authorized staff to seek proposals from pension <br />attorneys to advise City staff on pension related issues at its October 25, 2004 meeting. Staff recommended <br />appointing James W. Linn ofthe law firm Lewis, Longman & Walker, P.A. at an hourly rate of$225 per hour <br />through December 2005. Annual fiscal impact for review of benefit changes, ordinances and legislation <br />is estimated not to exceed $8,000. <br />
