<br />City Commission Meeting <br />December 13, 2004 <br />Page 9 <br /> <br />to provide for Law enforcement Canine Services; providing for conflicts, severability <br />and effective date." <br /> <br />Staff Presentation <br /> <br />Chief Pavlis said the following three Mutual Aid Agreements are renewed every four years. The <br />Agreements are currently in place with the last renewal in 200 I. The Agreements are renewed in <br />concurrence with the election/re-election of the Sheriff. Staff recommends renewal of the Mutual <br />Aid Agreements to January 1,2009. <br /> <br />Public Comments: <br /> <br />Mr. John Casselberry, 700 South Lost Lake Lane, Casselberry, Florida, asked if the unit would <br />include tracking services. Chief Pavlis stated that the two Canines in the Casselberry Police <br />Department are trained for tracking and narcotics. <br /> <br />MOTION: Moved by Commissioner Hartto approve Resolution 04-1547, Interlocal <br />Voluntary Cooperation Agreement for Law Enforcement, Canine (K-9) <br />Services, as presented. The motion was seconded by Commissioner <br />Hufford and carried unanimously by voice vote. <br /> <br />6. Resolution 04-1548 - Interlocal V oluntarv Cooperation Ae:reement for Traffic Enforcement <br /> <br />The City Clerk read Resolution 04-1548 by title as follows: <br /> <br />"A Resolution of the City of Casselberry, Florida, approving and authorizing the <br />execution of a voluntary cooperation agreement establishing a City/County/State <br />Traffic Enforcement Unit between the City of Casselberry and the Cities' of Altamonte <br />Springs, Lake Mary, Longwood, Maitland, Oviedo, Sanford, Winter Springs, and the <br />Sheriff of Seminole County, Florida Highway Patrol, Florida Department of <br />Transportation-Motor Carrier Compliance, Seminole County, Florida - Traffic <br />Engineering, CSX Railroad Police - Orlando Office of Special Agents; providing for <br />conflicts, severability and effective date." <br /> <br />Staff Presentation <br /> <br />Chief Pavlis stated that this Agreements falls under the same criteria as the previous one with <br />renewal to January 1, 2009. This Cooperative Agreement involves the traffic enforcement area <br />which allows for Mutual Aid between the cities. This Agreement is frequently used during holidays. <br />
