<br />RESOLUTION 04-1520 <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, CONFIRMING THE DECLARATION OF A <br />STATE OF EMERGENCY AND ALL EMERGENCY REGULATIONS <br />ACTIVATED BY THE CITY MANAGER AS PROVIDED BY CHAPTER 30 <br />OF THE CASSELBERRY CODE OF ORDINANCES; PROVIDING FOR <br />EXTENSION OF THE 72 HOUR TIME LIMIT FOR SAID STATE OF <br />EMERGENCY THROUGH MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 2004, EXPIRING <br />AT MIDNIGHT; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE." <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager of the City of Casselberry is authorized to declare a state of <br />emergency as provided by Section 30-7 of the City Code of Ordinances; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a public state of weather emergency as provided by Section 30-10 of the City <br />Code of Ordinances was declared by the City Manager at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 3, 2004 <br />due to the anticipated impacts of Hurricane Frances on the City of Casselberry; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the declaration of a public state of weather emergency was required for <br />activation of emergency plans adopted by the City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 30-7(b) of the City Code of Ordinances requires that the City <br />Commission confirm the emergency declaration made by the City Manager; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 30-7(f) of the City Code of Ordinances requires the City Commission <br />to authorize a request to extend the emergency declaration beyond the 72 hour time limit. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City <br />of Casselberry, Florida: <br /> <br />SECTION 1: The City Commission hereby confirms the decision of the City Manager to declare <br />a public state of weather emergency due to the anticipated impacts of Hurricane Frances on the City <br />of Casselberry. Per City Code Section 30-7(e), the public state of weather emergency commenced <br />at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 3, 2004 and terminated at the end of a period of 72 consecutive <br />hours, silid termination being 4:00 p.m. on MondaY, September 6,· 2004. .-- A copy· of tfie CItY'S <br />Manager's emergency declaration is attached to this resolution as Exhibit "A". <br /> <br />SECTION 2: The City Commission authorizes the extension of the 72 hour time limit of the public <br />state of emergency through Monday, September 13, 2004, expiring at Midnight. <br /> <br />SECTION 3: The City Commission hereby confirms all purchases and contracts for service that <br />were deemed necessary and approved by the City Manager during the period of the public state of <br />weather emergency and extension thereof.
