<br />Special City Commission Meeting <br />August 16, 2004 <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />The City Clerk read Resolution 04-1515 as follows: <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, <br />FLORIDA, CONFIRMING THE DECLARATION OF A STATE OF EMERGENCY AND <br />ALL EMERGENCY REGULATIONS ACTIVATED BY THE CITY MANAGER AS <br />PROVIDED BY CHAPTER 30 OF THE CASSELBERRY CODE OF ORDINANCES; <br />PROVIDING FOR EXTENSION OF THE 72 HOUR TIME LIMIT FOR SAID STATE OF <br />EMERGENCY UNTIL 7:00 P.M. ON MONDAY, AUGUST 23, 2004; PROVIDING FOR <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE." <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Moved by Vice Mayor/Commissioner AI Clark to approve Resolution 04- <br />1515, Declaring a State of Emergency, as presented. The motion was <br />seconded by Commissioner Susan Doerner and carried unanimously by voice <br />vote. <br /> <br />The City Manager presented a budget transfer request to use Fund Balance to fund a special General Fund <br />contingency reserve to cover Federal Emergency Management Agency reimbursable costs associated with <br />Hurricane Charley. The motion was seconded by Commissiouer Susan <br />Doerner and carried unanimously by voice vote. <br /> <br />The City Manager distributed handouts that included initial damage assessment, number of contract <br />numbers for information, i.e. FEMA, EOC Centers, etc. and a press release from Progress Energy that <br />included timetable for power restoration in the City. (The handouts are attached to and made a part of <br />these minutes.) <br /> <br />The City Commission commended the staff for ajob well done. <br /> <br />Meeting was adjourned at 9: 15 p.m. <br />
