So, if somebody owns it like Progress Energy, maybe they'd
be doing well just to keep owning it. I don't know. But this is something for everybody to make
a decision on. And so therefore, I think that a binding referendum, if we're going to have one at
all, should be the way to travel rather than a non-binding referendum. Thank you.

BRUCE PRONOVOST: Thank you. Steve Slain?

STEVE SLAIN: Thank you and good evening. I'll make it sweet and short because one friend
told me one time the, the mind can only absorb what the butt can stand, so...

AUDIENCE: ....(LAUGHTER)...

STEVE SLAIN: To be...

BRUCE PRONOVOST: I will remember that phrase.

STEVE SLAIN: Now do I have your attention? I've been a resident of Central Florida for about
twenty-five years. I've been a user of Florida Power slash Progress Energy for probably more
than three quarters of that time. In that time I, I've seen the company grow and continue to get
larger, but still be in touch with the community and the citizens to listen and to hear of our
complaints, our concerns and to, to make some changes. I've been very fortunate to, to be
friends with some people that work at Progress Energy that are with me here tonight and I'm
proud to say that had I not been informed by this individual of the referendum that's going
through right now, 1 would have had no idea of what's going on. So, my interest in being here
tonight is just to, to express my concern that is, that there's a great offer on the table. Don't let it
leave because if this does go to referendum, its going to cost money for both parties, and
