Clifton, Jr. <br />780 Williamsburg Drive NE <br />Concord, NC 28025 <br /> <br />Mr. Clifton stated that he was bom and raised in Miami, Florida; schooled in South Florida and <br />graduated from the University of South Florida in Tampa. He spent two years in the Army <br />serving in Viemam from June 1968 through August 1970. He indicated that he was a <br />straightforward individual with direct managerial experience. He stated that he was a Certified <br />Community Economic Developer and has coordinated development efforts among entities, both <br />in government and in the private sector. He stated that he had the ability to deal with complex <br />issues, focus on outcomes, set priorities and have the commitment to follow through with action. <br /> <br />Interview by the Commission followed. Mr. Clifton indicated that before he would accept the <br />position, he would need to sit down with each Commissioner and department head in a one-to- <br />one session. He indicated he could start employment 2 - 3 weeks if selected bythe Commission. <br /> <br />Mr. Clifton's resume' is attached to and made a part of these minutes. <br /> <br />Mr. Frank R. Spence <br />685 Miller Drive #E-401 <br />Miami Springs, FL 33166 <br /> <br />Mr. Spence stated that he had over 35 years of experience as a City Manager in the State of <br />Florida. He indicated that his experience in the State of Florida would be an important <br />consideration for the City Manager position. He said he believes strongly in community <br />involvement and a public servant should become a part of the community in which he lives and <br />works to best serve the interest of that community. He stated that he possesses the educational <br />requirements for the position and that he laas the necessary experience, expertise and ability to <br />carry out the duties and responsibilities of the City Manager for the City of Casselberry. <br /> <br />Interview by the Commission followed. Mr. Spence indicated that he could become available <br />immediately if selected by the Commission. <br /> <br />Mr. Spence's resume' is attached to and made a part of these minutes. <br /> <br />Mayor Pronovost outlined the procedure for ranldng the six City Manager candidates. The <br />Commission ranked each candidate on a 1 - 4 scale; ranging from four being the highest and one <br />being the lowest.
