CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of January 13, 2003 - Regular Meeting <br />Page 10 of 18 <br /> <br />The City Clerk read Resolution 03-1395 by title as follows: <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, APPROVING <br />ENTERING INTO A CONTRACT WITH HARRIS, COTHERMAN, O'KEEFE & <br />ASSOCIATES, CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, <br />SEVERABILITY AND EFFECTIVE DATE." <br /> <br />Mr. Dreier stated Resolution 03-1395 provides for renewal of the contract with Harris, Cotherman, O'Keefe <br />& Associates, Certified Public Accountants for a period of three years. The total cost for Fiscal Year 2003 <br />will be $37,500; Fiscal Year 2004 - $32,500; and Fiscal Year 2005 - $31,000. Staffrecommended approval <br />of Resolution 03-1395 as presented. <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Clark moved to approve Resolution 03- <br />1395 as presented. Motion was seconded by <br />Commissioner Doerner. Motion carried unanimously <br />by voice vote. <br /> <br />3. RESOLUTION 03-1396 - AMENDMENT #1 TO THE RESIDENTIAL SOLID <br /> <br />WASTE AGREEMENT WITH REPUBLIC SERVICES~ 1NC. <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Vice Mayor Clark moved to read Resolution 03-1396 <br />by title only. Motion was seconded by Commissioner <br />Hart. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote. <br /> <br />The City Clerk read Resolution 03-1396 by title as follows: <br /> <br />"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CAS SELBERRY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE <br />EXECUTION OF AN AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT FOR RESIDENTIAL <br />SOLID WASTE AND RECYCLING COLLECTION SERVICES WITH REPUBLIC <br />SERVICES, INC.; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE <br />DATE." <br /> <br />Mr. Segreto stated Resolution 03-1396 provides for clarifications in the definition section of the Residential <br />Solid Waste Agreement, resolving due process concerns and provides additional guidance regarding possible <br />additional services needs in the event ora catastrophic event. Staff recommended approval of Resolution <br />03 - 1396 as presented. <br /> <br />Audience Input <br /> <br />1) Howard Kusnick, Attorney representing Republic Services, 300 Nvq 82na Avenue, <br />Plantation, thanked the City for its cooperation relating to this matter and requested <br />favorable action on Resolution 03-i 396. Commissioner Cook voiced concerns regarding <br />trash cans being left out in the street after being emptied and Republic employees receiving <br />payments directly from citizens to pick up yard waste in excess or not meeting the City's <br /> <br /> <br />
