City of Casselberry <br />Parks and Recreation Advisory Board <br />Regular Meeting— March 11, 2025 <br />Recreation Manager Linda Moore presented information regarding the proposed Park/Facility <br />Fee Structure. <br />Upon conclusion of the presentation, Board Chair Sarah Wilson opened the floor for comments <br />from the board. <br />Board Member Cody Highly asked if all non-profit organizations qualified for fees listed in <br />Category II or just those located in the city of Casselberry. Linda Moore responded that all <br />qualify, and they do have to show proof of their 5010 status. Board Member Danielle <br />Meyering inquired about Secret Lake Park, Pavillion A, being updated. Linda Moore responded <br />there are no current plans but would like to get the Kiwanis Club involved with this in the <br />future. Board Member LeAnn Nash inquired if the fees being charged covered Security. Linda <br />Moore responded no and Security would be paid for separately if required. Danielle Meyering <br />inquired about the days of the year that the pool will be opened and how closures will be <br />determined. Linda Moore stated that the pool will be opened 365 days and specific reasons for <br />closing, i.e. weather events, etc., will be listed in the policies and posted. Danielle Meyering <br />inquired if there was any comparison made to the State Park rates as the proposed pricing is a <br />little bit higher. Linda Moore responded no. Cody Highly stated that any assessment of a fee <br />structure that does not include the correlating costs is completely arbitrary. <br />Board Chair Sarah Wilson asked for comments from the public. There were none. <br />Board Member Buffy Werle moved to provide a favorable recommendation to the City <br />Commission to consider adopting the new Park/Facility Fee Structure outlined in "Exhibit A" <br />as presented by Linda Moore. Motion was seconded by Board Member Danielle Meyering. <br />Motion carried 4 in favor, 1 opposed by voice vote. <br />6. _Ad_ opt -A -Tree Program <br />Dr. Kelly Brock, Public Works Director, presented information regarding the City's Adopt -A -Tree <br />program and Tree City USA designation. <br />Upon conclusion of the presentation, Board Chair Sarah Wilson opened the floor for comments <br />from the board. <br />Board Member Danielle Meyering inquired as to why the deadline for applications was <br />extended last year. Additionally, she raised concerns regarding the differences between this <br />program and the trees given away at the Earth Fest event. Dr. Brock responded there were <br />
