Inwood Consulting Engineers, Inc.
870 Clark Street
Oviedo, FL 32765
Attention: Mr. Mark Ellard, P.E.
ATTACHMENT
Subject: Proposal for Supplemental Geotechnicai Engineering Investigation
ANCHOR ROAD STORMWATER IMPROVEMENTS
Ponds 1 and 2 Retaining Walls
Seminole County, Florida
GEC Proposal No. 3762GS1
Dear Mr. Ellard:
Geotechnical and Environmental Consultants, Inc. (GEC) is pleased to present this
supplemental proposal to provide geotechnical engineering services for the above -referenced
project. This proposal is based on the documents provided to us by you on December 17,
2008. The purpose of this investigation will be to explore soil and groundwater conditions and
use the information obtained to provide geotechnical engineering recommendations for the
design of the proposed retaining walls. This proposal presents our understanding of the
project, our recommended scope of services and a cost and schedule for providing those
services.
Ponds 1 and 2 are located along Anchor Road between Stations 110+00 to 115+65 and
Stations 116+70 to 119+55, respectively. Geotechnical services are required to explore soil
and groundwater conditions on the west side of each pond to assist with the design and
installation of retaining walls so that the existing sloped pond sides can be removed and the
pond capacity can be increased. Based on the figures provided by Inwood, the wall height for
both ponds is estimated to be approximately 15 feet. This height is based on the pond bottom
elevation of +76 ft, NGVD and the an estimated ground surface elevation of approximately
+90 to +91 ft, NGVD. Based on this wall height, it is likely that sheet pile walls will be the
most cost effective option. However, GEC will also evaluate gravity walls and concrete
retaining walls as possible options.
Our recommended scope of services includes the following:
Mobilize truck -mounted drilling equipment.
910 Lahe BaldWin Lane, Oplande.
