CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION <br />Minutes of October 28, 2024 — Regular Meeting <br />Page 11 of 12 <br />15. CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br />A. City Attorney Billing Rate Consumer Price Index (CPI) Increase <br />Staff presentation: In 2015 the City Commission approved increasing the City Attorney rated based on <br />the CPI (Consumer Price Index). The CPI is currently at 2.3% for the Southeast Region. Based on this <br />information, City Attorney Kristin Eick advised that the hourly rate for attorneys would increase from the <br />current rate of $210.00 to $214.83 rounded up to $215.00 for the term of November 1, 2024 to October 31, <br />2025. <br />Budget Impact: Funds have been budgeted accordingly in the City Attorney Legal Services account #001- <br />0140-514.31-01. <br />Recommendation: The City Manager and the City Attorney recommended approval of the rate adjustment <br />for City Attorney services. <br />16. CITY CLERK'S REPORT <br />City Clerk Donna Gardner shared the following information: <br />T, <br />rood m ruck rFri: day will be held oil Friday, Poveniber 8"h n[oni O -n p.11i. nl Lr ,ak-e Concord <br />Park <br />the Craft Beer and Blues Festival featuring the legendary Pat Travers will be held on Saturday, <br />November 9"' from 5-9 p.m. in Lake Concord Park; the Trustco Bank Veteran & Active Duty <br />5K Run for Freedom will be held on Sunday, November 10t1i, starting in Lake Concord Park, <br />with registration beginning at 6:15 a.m. and run/walk beginning at 8:00 a.m.; and the <br />Casselberry Chamber of Commerce Food and Wine Festival will be held on Monday, <br />November l lf' from 6-9 p.m. in Lake Concord Park. Ms. Gardner noted that the Food and <br />Wine Festival is a ticketed event and interested persons could visit the Chamber of Commerce's <br />website for additional information. <br />• All City facilities will be closed on Monday, November 11"' in observance of Veterans' Day. <br />• There will be only one City Commission meeting in November due to the Thanksgiving <br />holiday, and that will be on Monday, November 18` at 5:30 p.m. in the City Commission <br />Chambers. <br />• Ms. Gardner noted for the record that the placement of political signs in public rights-of-way <br />is prohibited by Florida state statutes, Chapter 106.1435(3) which states that no signs can be <br />placed in or above a public right-of-way. She stated that she would be happy to answer <br />questions regarding this issue after the conclusion of the meeting. <br />17.
