CASSELBERRY CITY COMMISSION Minutes of September 23, 2024 — Regular Mceting Page 19 of 21 14. CITY MANAGER'S REPORT A. Procurement Information Report for the Period August 1, 2024 through i August 31 2024 Mr. Newlon advised that the Procurement Information Report for the month of August 2024 was contained in the Commissioners' agenda packets for review. He noted that the report contained information about minor contracts that were issued under delegated authority of staff during this period. B. Notification of Emergency Purchase Authorization of Sewer Lining Services for Guinevere Drive Sewer Main Break Mr. Newlon advised that lie had authorized the emergency purchase of sewer inspection, cleaning, and rehabilitation services for a sewer main break which occurred at the intersection of Guinevere Drive and Lady Susan Drive on September 11, 2024. The City's contracted sewer rehabilitation contractor was unavailable to snake the repairs in a timely manner, so due to the emergency nature of the repairs needed, the City Manager authorized staff to contact another local contractor, Atlantic Pipe Services, which was able to inspect within 48 hours and perform the needed repairs on September 16, 2024. The amount of the repairs made by Atlantic Pipe Services was $33,231.21, which was below the amount requested initially via purchase order. • Thanked all staff who had worked to make the Latin Art and Jazz Festival event on Saturday, September 21" such a successful and very well -attended event, including the art exhibits on display at the Casselberry Arts Center, the Art House, and City Hall. 15. CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT Ms. Reischmann expressed appreciation to the City Commission, staff, and the City Clerk for the resolution presented at tonight's meeting recognizing her service as City Attorney. 16. CITY CLERK'S REPORT City Clerk Donna Gardner shared the following information: There is currently a Call to Artists out for the upcoming memento mori themed art exhibit "Into the Void". The artwork in this exhibition will remind the viewer of the inevitability of death as a way to encourage them to celebrate the life they have. Artists may submit up to five works of art for the exhibit via email at arts a,casselberry.org and the deadline for submissions is October 1s` at midnight. A new event, ROCK ON Lake Concord will be held Friday, October 4`' from 6-9 p.m. and will feature Whitesnake's Joel Hoekstra and Devil City Angels' Brandon Gibbs, with opening act Ensley Riley and Spitfire.
