Introduction: Approval of Resolution 24-3449 providing for the authorization to apply for a TRAIL -GO Local Trail Management Grant with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection for funding to assist with the operation and maintenance of the City's trails is requested. Budget Impact: Submission of the application does not negatively impact the City's FY 2024 budget. However, to receive a higher priority ranking, the City will need to commit to a grant match. Award of the grant will take place in October 2024 and at that time a budget amendment may be necessary to re - appropriate budgeted FY 2025 funding. Recommendation: The City Manager and the Public Works & Utilities Director recommended approval of Resolution 24-3449. H. Resolution 24-3450 — Residential Solid Waste Fuel Adjustment with Waste Pro of Florida "A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CASSELBERRY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE APPROVAL OF A RATE ADJUSTMENT FOR FUEL IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PIGGYBACK AuREE1dIEi`v'T r OR RESIDENTIAL 1 IAL aOLID WASTE COLLECTION WITH WASTE PRO OF FLORIDA, INC.; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, SEVERABILITY, AND EFFECTIVE DATE." Introduction: Approval of Resolution 24-3450 providing for a rate adjustment for Waste Pro of Florida for residential solid waste collection services based on fuel inflation, effective July 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024 is requested. Discussion: Based on the 2023 data for fuel, the amount payable to Waste Pro per home per month for residential solid waste services will decrease from $17.16 to $16.88 for regular and special collection services and from $34.32 to $33.76 for side -door collection services. This represents a 1.63% decrease in the cost of these services. Seminole County's calculations include a bear service escalator that was omitted as it does not apply to the City. The total decrease in cost to the City for solid waste collection from July 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024 will be $13,665.12. The adjusted rate will be backdated to July 1, 2024. Approval of this item does not adjust the rates payable by residents to the City, only the rates the City pays directly to Waste Pro. Budget Impact: Sufficient fiulding is currently available in the Solid Waste Other Contractual Services account #118-0730-534.34-00. Recommendation: The City Manager and the Public Works & Utilities Director recommended approval of Resolution 24-3450 to provide for a fuel adjustment for Waste Pro of Florida for residential solid waste collection services.
