City of Casselberry <br />Parks and Recreation Advisory Board <br />Regular Meeting—September 14, 2021 <br />Ms. Kristin Caborn, Director of Park System Planning, GAI, Inc. began with a review of the master <br />planning process, noting the concerns related to the location of additional parking. <br />Next, Mr. Sean Lackey, Architect, Sean Lackey Architecture, LLC presented the historical research <br />of the Brightwater Estate. Mr. Lackey informed the Board that there is a file for this property on <br />the Florida Master Site File, and the potential future opportunity for it being listed on the National <br />Trust for Historic Preservation list. Mr. Lackey presented photos of the property in its present <br />state and gave historical background to changes and additions from the original plans. <br />Ms. Caborn then reported on the comparable local venues researched by the consultants. The <br />following presenter was Mr. Frank Bellomo, Senior Landscape Architect, GAI, Inc. He presented <br />initial conceptual site plans for the property. Then, Mr. Thomas M. Goodwill, Architect, <br />Wannemacher Jensen Architects, Inc., presented conceptual architectural plans. Lastly, Ms. <br />Caborn reviewed the public input meeting held on September 1, 2021. <br />Chairwoman Icenhower then opened the floor for comments from the public. <br />Barry Campbell, 231 Oak Wood Road, Winter Springs, expressed positive sentiments regarding <br />the historical preservation and historical nature of the site. <br />Gerold Wesol, 942 Niblick Drive, Casselberry, spoke of concern regarding the potential of <br />increased cut -through traffic. <br />Bill Hufford, 527 Queens Mirror Circle, Casselberry, commented on some of the proposed <br />elements and emphasized his preference for a passive park. <br />Nole (Thomas) Day, 709 S Lost Lake Lane, Casselberry, also commented on some of the proposed <br />elements and emphasized his preference for a passive park. <br />Colleen Hufford, 527 Queens Mirror Circle, Casselberry, voiced her support for the events center <br />on the north side and a passive park with opportunities for learning activities. <br />Brenda Hendricks, 705 S Lost Lake Lane, Casselberry, expressed concern regarding light <br />pollution. She also mentioned the size of the comparable venues. <br />Kelly Kester, 376 S Lost Lake Lane, Casselberry, stated he agreed with Ms. Hendricks. <br />
